A values-driven financial services organisation is appointing a People Partner on a 10-month fixed term basis, running through to August 2027. The role sits within the People Partnering team and supports a portfolio of business units, working alongside an established people function to deliver practical, commercially grounded HR advice and solutions across the employee lifecycle.

This is a hands-on partnering role with real ownership. The right person is experienced working with senior leaders, comfortable taking accountability for their portfolio, and brings the credibility and judgement to operate with genuine autonomy day to day.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Owning the people partnering workload across designated business units, including case management, ER advice, and leader coaching
• Managing the full case management spectrum: absence, performance, misconduct, psychosocial matters, policy interpretation, show cause, and union consultation
• Delivering ER advice and dispute resolution, handling and escalating cases with discretion and professionalism
• Working closely with the Workplace Relations, Incident and Injury Management team on complex investigations
• Supporting cyclical activities including performance and talent reviews, remuneration review processes, and workforce planning
• Contributing to enterprise and business initiatives as directed by the Senior People Partner

Background Required

• Solid ER and IR experience in a large, complex organisation with demonstrated ability to manage competing case loads
• Comfortable working with senior leaders and taking ownership of a portfolio without close supervision
• Strong working knowledge of EA interpretation, union consultation, and show cause processes
• Experience in financial services, FMCG, or large operational environments will be viewed favourably
• Strong conflict resolution and mediation skills, with the interpersonal credibility to operate across all levels

$170K package inclusive of super | 10 month fixed term, ASAP start, hard end around August 2027. Hybrid working, 2 to 3 days in office across either Sydney or Melbourne. This role could also function as a .8 (4 days per week)
