HR Generalist


Location: Tuam, Co. Galway


3 Month Contract with potential for extension


2 days remote (Monday & Friday) and 3 office days (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for employee and manager HR queries, providing guidance on policies, procedures, and HR processes.
  • Manage employee lifecycle administration, including contracts, contract amendments, onboarding, probation reviews, and offboarding.
  • Assist in coordination of recruitment activities, including job postings, interview scheduling, offer preparation, and candidate communications.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems, ensuring compliance with GDPR and employment legislation.
  • Coordinate the review and updating of HR policies and procedures, supporting communication and implementation across the business.
  • Administer employee benefits programmes and liaise with external providers.
  • Produce monthly HR reports and dashboards, including headcount, attrition, recruitment, and other key people metrics.
  • Maintain organisational charts and workforce planning data.
  • Support performance management, talent processes, annual HR cycles, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Escalate complex employee relations matters to the HR Business Partner while supporting documentation and case administration.
  • Partner with the HR team to support the successful delivery of HR projects and strategic people initiatives, providing coordination, reporting, analysis, and administrative support to help achieve business and HR objectives.
  • Support the management of visa and work permit applications and renewals, ensuring a smooth employee experience and compliance with immigration requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on leave entitlements and processes, coordinating the administration of annual leave, maternity leave, paternity leave, parent’s leave, sick leave, and other leave types in line with company policies and legislative requirements.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of employee wellbeing programmes, health initiatives, and engagement activities that support a positive employee experience.
  • Monitor employee time and attendance records, proactively following up on outstanding timesheets and payroll-related information to support accurate and timely payroll processing.

Key Requirements

  • Third-level qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years' experience in an HR Generalist or HR Operations role.
  • CIPD qualified or working towards qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Experience supporting the full employee lifecycle.
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills, including advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Experience producing HR metrics, dashboards, and organisational charts.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
