We're looking for an HR Generalist to keep the people side of our U.S. operations running smoothly. You'll own onboarding, support payroll, and handle the everyday HR work that helps employees feel supported from day one. You'll work with our U.S. based team every day, so hands on experience with U.S. HR rules, including state level requirements, matters here. If you're organized, people focused, and take pride in getting the details right, we'd love to meet you.

Benefits and Compensation

  • Permanent Work from Home
  • Paid Time Off
  • Monthly Performance Bonus
  • Annual Bonus
  • Health Allowance

What you'll do

  • Onboarding and Offboarding: Run the full onboarding process for new hires, from offer paperwork and I 9 and E Verify to new hire setup and orientation. Handle offboarding cleanly and in line with the rules.
  • Payroll Support: Prepare and review payroll inputs and track hours, PTO, and deductions. Work with payroll providers so every cycle is accurate and on time.
  • HR Compliance: Apply federal and state employment requirements, including wage and hour rules, leave policies, required postings, and new hire reporting. Flag risks early.
  • Employee Records and HRIS: Keep employee files accurate and confidential, and keep HRIS data clean, current, and ready for audit.
  • Employee Support and Relations: Be the person employees turn to with questions about HR, policies, and benefits, and help handle workplace concerns fairly and with care.
  • General HR Operations: Help with policy updates, keeping the handbook current, benefits administration, and other HR projects as the team grows.

What you'll bring

  • At least 1 year of experience handling HR for U.S. employees in a specific U.S. state, such as California, New York, Texas, or Florida.
  • Hands on experience with U.S. onboarding, including I 9 and E Verify.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. payroll processes and platforms such as ADP, Paychex, Gusto, or similar.
  • A solid understanding of federal and state employment rules, including FLSA, FMLA, and state wage, leave, and reporting requirements.
  • Experience with an HRIS and with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office.
  • Strong attention to detail and discretion with sensitive information.
  • Clear, confident written and spoken English for working with a U.S. team every day.
  • A reliable internet connection and a dedicated home workspace.

How you work

  • Problem solving: You dig into HR and payroll issues, weigh the options, and find practical solutions that follow the rules.
  • Teamwork: You work well with others and help wherever the team needs you.
  • Sound judgment: You know when to act, when to escalate, and how to handle sensitive matters.
  • Planning & organizing: You plan around payroll deadlines and onboarding timelines and keep track of every detail.
  • Professionalism: You represent HR and the company well in every interaction.
  • Quality focus: You take pride in accurate records, clean payroll, and careful work.
  • Dependability: You show up, meet deadlines, and people can count on you.
  • Ethics: You protect confidentiality and act with integrity in everything you do.
