Human Resources Generalist
Lexington, KY | Full-Time | $80,000 – $85,000
The Opportunity
Join an award-winning, nationally recognized design firm of architects, engineers, landscape architects, and planners as its HR Generalist in Lexington. You'll report to the Head of Human Resources and take ownership of day-to-day HR across five offices, from hiring and employee relations to benefits, performance management, and compliance. This is a great fit for a self-driven HR professional who wants real responsibility and a visible role in shaping company culture.
Your Day-to-Day
- Recruiting and onboarding: Manage the full hiring cycle, from job posting to offer, along with onboarding and offboarding.
- Employee relations: Resolve conflicts, conduct investigations, and guide disciplinary processes with fairness and discretion.
- Engagement: Lead surveys, events, and stay and exit interviews that strengthen the employee experience.
- Payroll and benefits: Oversee payroll and administer health and retirement plans, including annual open enrollment.
- Compliance: Keep the firm aligned with federal, state, and local employment laws, and maintain policies and the employee handbook.
- Performance and development: Run the annual review process and support training programs.
- Systems and process: Serve as HRIS administrator and find ways to make HR work simpler and more efficient.
- Travel: Visit offices in Ohio and Texas periodically.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or a related field
- 6+ years of progressive HR experience
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification (strongly preferred)
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
