Salary Range: $32.19 To $33.80 Hourly
POSITION PROFILE:
Under the direction of the AVP of People and Workplace Culture, the Human Resources Generalist will proactively perform daily departmental responsibilities including, but not limited to: managing hiring recruitment, onboarding and terminations, benefits administration, and HRIS administration. The Generalist also maintains tracking of all job postings and tracking systems for all open positions. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a high level of confidentiality, integrity, and customer service in a fast-paced environment. SAY offers a lucrative total rewards package. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage recruitment cycle; Maintain HRIS for all current SAY job openings.
- Coordinate and attend job fairs; Research additional recruitment methods and maintain relationship with outside vendors.
- Verify variables of recruiting process to determine timeline of time from open position to hire date, recruiting sources most used, number of job fair applicants, etc.
- Manage benefits administration to include off cycle enrollment and open enrollment, employee education, employee inquiries, process changes (additions and terminations) and working with payroll in providing information needed for billing; Prepare and coordinate COBRA information to send to third party administrator.
- Reconcile HR-related invoices and benefit discrepancies.
- Confirm employee policies, procedures in accordance with current employee handbook; responds to employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, stays current on the company’s organization structure, personnel policy, and federal and state labor practices.
- Assist with responses for personnel files for outside legal requests
- Facilitate new hire meetings and onboarding processes, including completion and verification of required work authorization documentation in accordance with federal requirements
- Manage full-cycle Workers Compensation claims from first report of injury through resolution
- Oversee and facilitate all leave of absences (FMLA, CFRA, PDL) in compliance with California and federal law
- Lead internal HR compliance audits, reporting, and maintain HRIS data integrity to include EEO, I-9, subsequent health screenings, meal waivers, etc.
- In collaboration with brokers, prepare and submit annual benefit provider reports.
- Support OSHA compliance by maintaining required workplace safety records and recordkeeping requirements
- Conduct and facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation, including reviewing organization policies and procedures, benefits and workplace expectations
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Certifications):
- Minimum of 2 years recruiting experience preferred and human resources; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- SHRM or HRCI certification – highly preferred
- Strong experience with ADP Workforce Now or other HRIS system.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Maintain confidentiality with all levels of the organization
- Knowledge of California Government, Federal, State and local laws (i.e., COBRA, FLSA, EEO, OSHA, Workers Comp, ADA and HIPPA).
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and strong follow through skills are essential.
- Well organized and consistently demonstrates ability to handle multiple activities with changing priorities simultaneously.
- Solid critical thinking skills and ability to cooperatively partner with HR staff, hiring managers and critical departments such as payroll and fiscal.
- Strong customer focus and ability to work with a broad range of diverse ethnicities, backgrounds, cultures, and socioeconomic populations.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain information in confidence.
