About Article Student Living
Article Student Living owns and operates student housing communities near universities across the country. Our job is to create places where students feel at home, and that starts with hiring and supporting great people. Our team runs on four values: All-In, Agile, Accountable, and Authentic. We’d love to find an intern who brings the same energy.

Duration: 12 weeks, May 24–August 12, 2027

Schedule: Full-Time, On-site Monday–Tuesday; work from home Friday
Pay: $22/hour

Reports to: Nicole Boven, Recruiting Manager

What We Offer

  • Impactful experience in both HR and Recruiting, giving you a strong foundation for a career working with people, from sourcing talent to supporting them once they’re hired
  • Hands-on practice with the systems and tools HR teams use every day
  • Mentorship from HR and Talent Acquisition team members
  • An organization and leaders that support your development through meaningful work experience

What You’ll Experience

HR operations and onboarding (35%)

  • Coordinate new hire onboarding. I-9 documentation, HRIS records, and employee files.
  • Compliance. Maintain employee files and HR trackers to keep us compliant.
  • Policies and training. Review and update HR policies, process documents, and training materials.
  • Employee relations. Answer routine employee questions; escalate important matters to the right HR team member.

Recruiting and candidate coordination (35%)

  • Resume screening. Review resumes for roles at our properties.
  • Interview coordination. Schedule interviews and coordinate with candidates, property managers, and regional managers.
  • Write and post jobs. Keep the open jobs tracker up to date.
  • Source candidates. Search LinkedIn, Indeed, and local job boards for candidates for hard-to-fill property roles.

Employee engagement survey project (15%)

  • Open-ended comment coding. Build a simple codebook, tag comments by theme (e.g., manager support, pay, growth, workload), and summarize the top themes with representative, anonymized examples. Track participation and support follow-up to boost response rates.
  • Participation and results analysis. Break out response rates by team, property, and tenure band, then compare scores across groups to flag hot spots and low-participation areas.
  • Leadership readout draft. Turn the themes and data into a concise slide deck with key findings, strengths, and gaps, plus a first pass of action ideas for HR leadership to refine.

Campus recruiting and process improvement (15%)

  • Campus coordination. Support campus recruiting and career fair outreach for the upcoming season.
  • Process improvement. Identify one part of our recruiting process to improve.
  • Final presentation. Present your recommendation to the company at the end of the internship.

What You Will Bring:

  • Friendly, clear communication in writing and in person
  • Good judgment and discretion with confidential information
