Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Operations Manager at Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP. We are searching for someone who wants to be a valued contributor and member of a talented and dynamic team of lawyers, paralegals and business professionals. The Human Resources Operations Manager manages the Human Resources (“HR”) Department’s firm wide policies, manuals, programs, and job descriptions database. Manages the timelines and forms for the business professional performance evaluation program. Responsible for maintaining HR’s content and image on the intranet and internet. Ensures HR regulatory compliance. Utilize AI to maintain efficiency in processes for the department. Recommends and manages efficiencies within all HR systems. Assists in recruitment regarding background check adjudications, etc. Provides support for special HR projects. Key Responsibilities Develops, analyzes, maintains, updates, and revises all HR policies, manuals (including the employee handbook), forms, and documents; notifies appropriate individuals of changes. Designs and continually upgrades the processes and forms for recruiting, hiring, on-boarding, evaluation, compensation, and departure. Manages and audits HR's intranet and internet presence, ensuring information stays current and well represents the firm and department. Conducts regular department audits — including processes, policies, files, independent contractors, FLSA classifications, and job descriptions — and serves as HR's contact for all internal and external audits. Designs and revises job descriptions for all current business professional positions. Ensures HR regulatory compliance across all states in which the firm operates; monitors new and pending legislation and regulations (including Federal and State Labor Law posters and background check policies) and takes timely action to keep HR prepared and compliant. Monitors HR trends generally and within law firms specifically; recommends and implements approved changes to policies and programs to keep the firm competitive with industry trends and ratios. Manages the business professional performance evaluation process, timelines, forms, and system administration through vi-Aderant. Manages selection of, and negotiates agreements and relationships with, vendors and agencies as requested by the Director of HR — including background check, LinkedIn, labor law posting, performance management, and training vendors (Navex/Kantola), as well as outside recruiting agencies. Manages international hire visa processing: advises partners, maintains required documentation, liaises with immigration counsel, attorney recruiting, and candidates/employees, and prepares documents for government submission. Manages the annual Anti-Harassment Compliance Training program and the Ethics Compliance Hotline, ensuring timely training, responsiveness to questions, and closure of hotline allegations. Manages workers' compensation claims with the carrier, escalating to the insurance broker as needed. Manages and communicates the Eversheds Sutherland "Stars" program, including information dissemination, award notifications, and program updates. Creates, revises, and communicates independent contractor agreements. Develops and maintains firm organizational charts for leadership review. Partners with and supports all members of the HR team, as assigned. Performs special projects, as assigned. Qualifications & Experience: Required Qualifications: At least fifteen years of progressively responsible experience in human resources in a highly matrixed, multi-office organization, with at least ten years as a manager. Expertise in HR best practices, metrics, policy development, regulatory compliance and HRMS systems. Build consensus and manages competing deadlines across multiple projects; flexible and able to shift priorities quickly in a fast-paced environment. Proactive change agent with outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word, and HRIS systems/databases. Preferred Qualifications Law firm or other professional service firm experience strongly preferred. Experience with full cycle project management is preferred. Education BA or BS from an accredited college or university is required. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP credentials are strongly preferred, as is a graduate degree in a related field. This is a hybrid role and will require 3 days in office per week. The salary ranges for this position vary depending on the geographic location and other factors such as experience, internal equity, market data, and job-related considerations. The range for this position is from $130,00 - $150,000, with offers contingent upon the various factors.
