As a HVAC Journeyman here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial mechanical and piping systems. You will apply your skilled trade experience to support safe, reliable, and high-quality installations and service while working closely with customers and the Honeywell field service team.
You will report directly to our Field Service Manager and work out of our Roswell , NM location on a Hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will support commercial and industrial mechanical systems, perform skilled pipe fitting work, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable codes, customer requirements, and union standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, assemble, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial piping and mechanical systems.
- Perform skilled pipe fitting, including measuring, cutting, threading, bending, fitting, and assembling pipe.
- Install and service piping associated with HVAC, hydronic, chilled water, steam, and other mechanical systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, piping drawings, and technical documentation.
- Perform equipment and system inspections to identify leaks, mechanical issues, and potential failures.
- Use hand tools, power tools, pipe fitting equipment, and testing instruments safely and effectively.
- Support installation and service of pumps, boilers, chillers, air handlers, valves, and related mechanical equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical systems and identify root causes of equipment or piping issues.
- Follow Honeywell, customer, OSHA, and union safety requirements and applicable building and mechanical codes.
- Maintain accurate service documentation and communicate job status, issues, and completion details to the field service team.
- Coordinate with customers, technicians, contractors, and other trades to complete work safely and efficiently.
- Travel to customer locations throughout the Roswell, NM area and surrounding markets.
- Participate in required union training and maintain applicable trade qualifications and certifications.
YOU MUST HAVE
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current membership in, or eligibility to join, the applicable Pipe Fitters Union.
- HVAC Journeyman license and experience in commercial, industrial, or mechanical environments
- Demonstrated experience with pipe installation, fitting, fabrication, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, piping drawings, and technical documentation.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, pipe fitting equipment, and testing instruments.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening for customer sites.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, work from lifts, and perform physically demanding work in various environments.
- Willingness to travel throughout the Roswell, NM area and surrounding markets.
WE VALUE
- Completion of a recognized Pipe Fitter Journeyman apprenticeship program.
- Experience with commercial HVAC, hydronic, chilled water, steam, or industrial piping systems.
- Experience installing and servicing boilers, chillers, pumps, valves, air handlers, and related mechanical equipment.
- Knowledge of applicable mechanical, plumbing, and safety codes.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Welding, brazing, soldering, or pipe fabrication experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and continuous learning.
