Position Overview

  • We are seeking experienced GCP Infrastructure Engineers to support the preliminary study, design, and construction of a common container platform on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • The project aims to establish a new platform using OpenShift Dedicated on GCP, leveraging the existing ROSA (Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS) environment as a reference. The successful candidates will take ownership of technical investigations, infrastructure design, platform implementation, and CI/CD integration, working closely with stakeholders to deliver the project within a short timeline.
  • We are looking for proactive engineers who can independently investigate technical challenges, make practical implementation decisions, and drive delivery from initial assessment through construction.

Key Responsibilities

1. Preliminary Study and Technical Investigation

  • Analyze the existing ROSA on AWS architecture, infrastructure design, and operational procedures.
  • Investigate the architecture and implementation approach for OpenShift Dedicated on GCP.
  • Validate technical feasibility through hands-on testing in an actual environment.
  • Identify GCP-specific requirements, technical challenges, and differences from the existing AWS environment.
  • Evaluate infrastructure capabilities related to networking, authentication, security, and monitoring.
  • Prepare technical findings, recommendations, and materials to support stakeholder discussions and design decisions.

2. Infrastructure Design

  • Design the architecture and configuration of the GCP-based OpenShift Dedicated platform.
  • Define infrastructure, networking, authentication, security, and operational configurations.
  • Design integrations with GitHub, Argo CD, Okta, and related services.
  • Develop test plans covering integration, operational scenarios, failure recovery, and security.
  • Reuse existing ROSA design patterns where applicable while addressing GCP-specific requirements.
  • Prepare essential design documentation and obtain agreement from relevant stakeholders.

3. Platform Construction and Integration

  • Build and configure the OpenShift Dedicated environment on GCP according to the agreed design.
  • Implement CI/CD integrations using GitHub, Argo CD, and related tools.
  • Implement authentication integration with Okta.
  • Establish the necessary connections with existing security, auditing, access control, and operational functions.
  • Execute technical validation and testing to ensure the platform meets the agreed requirements.
  • Troubleshoot implementation issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Prepare operational procedures and technical documentation for future maintenance and platform expansion.

4. Communication and Collaboration

  • Proactively drive technical investigations and implementation activities.
  • Lead technical discussions and coordinate with customers, CTC, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Support technical decision-making and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Communicate technical findings and recommendations clearly.
  • Contribute to establishing a standardized platform foundation for future development and production deployment.

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience designing and building infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure architecture, including networking, authentication, security, and monitoring.
  • Experience conducting technical investigations, validating solutions, and troubleshooting infrastructure issues.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of technical tasks, and deliver results within tight project timelines.
  • Good Japanese (N1/N2) communication skills for technical discussions, documentation, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Ability to prepare clear technical documentation and explain architectural decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with OpenShift, particularly OpenShift Dedicated or Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA).
  • Experience with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) or Kubernetes-based container platforms.
  • Experience designing, implementing, or operating CI/CD environments.
  • Practical experience with GitHub, Argo CD, and Okta.
  • Experience with AWS infrastructure and multi-cloud environments.
  • Experience with infrastructure security, monitoring, auditing, and operational integration.
  • Experience leading technical investigations or coordinating infrastructure implementation projects.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for engineers who demonstrate:

  • Strong ownership: Able to identify issues, investigate solutions, and move work forward without waiting for detailed instructions.
  • Hands-on technical capability: Comfortable validating architecture and implementation approaches through practical testing.
  • Problem-solving skills: Able to investigate complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Communication and collaboration: Able to build consensus and communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Delivery focus: Prioritizes practical outcomes, rapid validation, and essential documentation over unnecessary processes.

Project Information

  • Project scope: Preliminary study, infrastructure design, and platform construction
  • Target platform: OpenShift Dedicated on GCP
  • Reference environment: ROSA on AWS
  • Key technologies: GCP, OpenShift, Kubernetes, GitHub, Argo CD, Okta, CI/CD
  • Work location:Tokyo, Japan
  • Work arrangement: Primarily onsite, especially during the initial phase; hybrid work may be considered in later phases.
