As climate change and pollution increasingly threaten our limited freshwater resources, protecting groundwater has become more urgent than ever. With approximately half of our drinking water coming from groundwater, iFLUX enables better protection and sustainable management of this vital resource.
As iFLUX continues to grow, we are looking for a Commercial Hydrogeologist for Technical Sales & Account Management.
This is a technical-commercial role for someone who combines strong expertise in hydrogeology and groundwater remediation with substantial experience in client development, technical sales and account management.
You will build on an established market presence, existing customer and consultant relationships, qualified commercial opportunities and increasingly mature solution packages. Your role is not to develop a market from scratch, but to use your technical expertise and commercial experience to turn this foundation into successful projects, long-term accounts and recurring business.
How does your role look like?
You combine strong hydrogeological expertise with commercial experience and take ownership of opportunities throughout the sales process.
Opportunities may come from colleagues, partners, existing accounts, or your own account-development activities. From there, you take the lead: you understand the client's challenge, translate it into the right monitoring approach, develop the technical and commercial proposal and guide the opportunity towards a successful project.
You also develop long-term relationships with strategic accounts, including environmental consulting firms, water utilities and industrial clients, and you support and train partners in positioning and applying iFLUX solutions.
You will work closely with our hydrogeologists, product specialists and field team, and with your colleagues in the Sales & Marketing team.
Specifically, this means:
- Technical sales: understand the client's groundwater or remediation challenge and identify where iFLUX can create value.
- Solution design: translate client needs into an appropriate monitoring approach and network design, together with our internal experts where needed.
- Proposal & sales process: prepare technical-commercial proposals and take ownership of opportunities from qualification through technical scoping, proposal development, negotiation and contract award.
- Account management: develop existing accounts, identify new opportunities within them and turn successful projects into long-term collaborations based on trust and technical credibility.
- Consultant & partner development: build strong relationships with environmental consultants and partners, and train them to correctly position and apply iFLUX solutions.
- Specification sales: work with consultants and governmental stakeholders to position iFLUX solutions early in the project cycle and integrate them into monitoring strategies, remediation designs and specifications.
What do you bring?
Experience & skills
- Educational foundation: a university degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or a closely related technical field.
- Groundwater & remediation expertise: at least 8 years of professional experience in hydrogeology, groundwater contamination and/or groundwater remediation. You understand groundwater flow, contaminant transport, monitoring strategies and remediation concepts, and you can discuss these confidently with experienced technical professionals.
- Industry experience: substantial experience in the groundwater sector, preferably working with environmental consultants, remediation specialists, industrial clients and/or drinking-water utilities.
- Commercial track record: substantial, proven experience in technical sales, business development and/or account management, with technical opportunities that you successfully developed into concrete projects and commercial agreements.
- Technical-commercial communication: you can communicate complex technical solutions clearly and convincingly with stakeholders ranging from hydrogeologists and engineers to project managers and decision-makers.
- You feel comfortable in a rapidly evolving and growing organization.
- You are structured, proactive and comfortable taking responsibility for opportunities and accounts from first qualification through follow-up and expansion.
- You build long-term relationships while maintaining the commercial discipline needed to move opportunities forward.
Mindset
- You are a team player.
- You have professional proficiency in Dutch (C1) and excellent professional working proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Professional proficiency in French is a strong plus.
- You are based in Belgium or the Netherlands.
- You are willing to travel regularly for client meetings, partner visits and industry events, mainly within the Benelux and occasionally beyond.
