This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact while developing deep expertise in humanitarian immigration law. Key Responsibilities Analyze client cases and identify viable immigration relief pathways, including VAWA, U-Visa, I-601/I-212 waivers, AOS, and consular processing. Provide legal advice and representation for clients seeking immigration benefits and relief. Consult with clients to assess their immigration goals, eligibility, and personal narratives. Prepare and draft persuasive legal documents, including declarations, affidavits, and motions, tailored to each client’s story. Navigate backlogged cases by identifying missing evidence and developing creative strategies (e.g., motions to reopen, appeals, or requests for reconsideration). Represent clients in USCIS and Immigration Court proceedings. Monitor and interpret changes in immigration laws and policies. Review and approve case submissions and legal packets. Maintain the highest ethical and professional standards in all interactions. Collaborate with the managing attorney and team members on active cases and firm initiatives. Required Skills & Qualifications Licensed Attorney in good standing (any U.S. jurisdiction). Strong knowledge of U.S. immigration law, particularly humanitarian relief categories such as VAWA, U-Visas, waivers (I-601/I-212), AOS, and consular processing. Exceptional analytical reasoning and the ability to identify creative eligibility solutions. Demonstrated legal writing and drafting proficiency; skilled at preparing compelling client narratives and arguments. Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and ensure thorough case preparation. Adaptable and resourceful, especially when resolving RFEs or cases lacking traditional documentation. Empathy and compassion in working with survivors of abuse and trauma. Strong advocacy and communication skills, both written and oral. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, though not required. Position Details Full-time or part-time positions available. Standard office hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Occasional Saturday consults may be required. Travel required as part of client representation. Competitive compensation commensurate with experience. Why Join JJ Moore & Associates?
