About the Role
Lead legal operations and people across a growing Canadian immigration law practice. This role connects legal quality and risk management with business performance, while helping improve workflows through AI and automation.
What You'll Do
Monitor operational health and performance across practice areas including Express Entry, family class, criminal inadmissibility, work permits, and citizenship by descent.
Lead lawyers, practice leads, and case managers through coaching, performance management, capacity planning, and organizational change.
Connect legal operations with business outcomes by assessing metrics such as cost per file, team efficiency, and practice-level economics.
Act as the final legal escalation point for quality standards, risk decisions, and complex matters.
Partner with product and engineering teams to improve legal workflows using AI and automation.
Support continuity and transitions across legal teams and practice areas.
What We're Looking For
Four to 15 years of experience as an immigration attorney, with a law degree and a license to practise in Canada.
Ontario lawyer licensing in good standing.
Strong Canadian immigration law experience, including permanent residence and Express Entry, family class, work permits, and criminal inadmissibility.
Experience leading a legal practice or department and managing both lawyers and non-lawyer staff, including performance management.
Sound legal judgment and experience serving as a final escalation point for quality and risk.
Comfort assessing operational metrics across multiple business lines, reading a P&L, and working in a fast-moving environment.
Familiarity with modern AI assistants and coding tools.
