About the Role
Lead legal operations and people across a growing Canadian immigration practice. You will connect legal quality and risk decisions with operational performance, while helping improve workflows across multiple practice areas.
What You'll Do
Monitor operational health and performance metrics across immigration practice areas, including Express Entry, Family Class, work permits, criminal inadmissibility, and citizenship by descent.
Lead lawyers, practice leads, and case managers through coaching, performance management, capacity planning, and organizational change.
Connect legal operations to business outcomes by tracking measures such as cost per file, team efficiency, margins, and file capacity.
Act as a final legal escalation point, setting quality standards and making risk decisions across cases.
Partner with product and engineering teams to improve legal workflows using AI and automation.
Support practice continuity and guide teams through operational transitions.
What We're Looking For
Four to fifteen years of experience practicing Canadian immigration law, with experience across permanent residence and Express Entry, Family Class, work permits, and criminal inadmissibility.
A law degree and an active Ontario licence in good standing.
Experience leading a legal practice or department and managing both lawyers and non-lawyer staff, including performance management.
Experience handling high-volume caseloads and making final quality and risk decisions.
Ability to assess operational metrics across multiple practice areas and familiarity with P&L concepts, margins, pricing, and file economics.
Comfort working in a fast-moving environment and using AI tools such as Claude Co-Work and Claude Code.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation is CAD $160,000 to $200,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Location
