MWeds Global Advisory supports individuals, families and employers with Irish immigration and citizenship matters.
We are looking for an experienced Immigration Specialist to manage cases from initial enquiry and eligibility assessment through to application preparation, submission and advice following a decision.
You will carry a substantial employment permit caseload while also handling other immigration matters within your competence and providing technical support to colleagues. This role reports to the Managing Director and has no people-management responsibilities.
Hybrid working: normally two days per week at our Dublin 15 office, with additional attendance occasionally required for onboarding, training, meetings or other operational needs. Office days will be coordinated with the team, and additional attendance communicated in advance wherever practicable.
- Advise prospective and existing clients through email, telephone, video calls and WhatsApp, explaining their options, our services, fees and next steps.
- Assess eligibility and develop an appropriate strategy for each case, considering the client’s circumstances, immigration history, risks and alternatives.
- Conduct thorough research for any case you handle or support, using relevant legislation, official guidance, policies and case law where applicable. Record the sources and reasoning behind your recommendations.
- Manage employment permit applications and other immigration or citizenship matters within your expertise.
- Check supporting documents, prepare applications and correspondence, and respond to requests for further information.
- Liaise with employers, individuals and relevant authorities, keeping clients informed and maintaining accurate records, deadlines and follow-up actions.
- Explain approval conditions and subsequent requirements, or assess refusal reasons and available next steps, including relevant deadlines.
- Support colleagues with technical questions and selected case reviews, contributing to shared guidance and improvements.
- Identify and correct issues promptly, escalating unresolved or complex matters with your research and proposed approach.
- Handle sensitive client information securely and confidentially.
- Proven experience independently handling Irish employment permit applications, plus practical experience in other Irish immigration or citizenship areas.
- Strong research, case assessment and document-checking skills.
- Experience advising employers and individuals, including conducting consultations.
- Excellent written and spoken English and the ability to explain complex requirements clearly.
- Ownership of case progression, reliable follow-through and sound judgement about when further input is needed.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively with colleagues in Ireland and Brazil.
- Availability to attend our Dublin 15 office under the hybrid arrangement described above.
- Experience with EU Treaty Rights, family applications, naturalisation or reviewing colleagues’ casework would be an advantage. A relevant immigration or legal qualification and Portuguese language skills are desirable.
