Implementation Consultant

We are seeking a Treasury & Cash Management Software Implementation Specialist to join our growing implementation and professional services team. This role is ideal for a consultant with strong treasury domain knowledge , hands-on experience implementing treasury management systems (TMS) such as FIS , ION Treasury , and/or GTreasury , and the ability to work closely with corporate treasurers, finance teams, and technical stakeholders. You will play a key role in delivering successful end-to-end TMS implementations, translating treasury and accounting requirements into configured system solutions, and acting as a trusted advisor to clients throughout the implementation lifecycle. The role is remote , based India , and will involve collaboration with international clients and internal teams across Australian time zones ( from 10am to 6.30pm, Sydney time ) Key Responsibilities Client Engagement & Consulting Act as a primary functional consultant and trusted partner to clients, particularly Group Treasurers, Treasury Managers, and Finance stakeholders . Lead requirements-gathering workshops to understand clients treasury structures, policies, and operational workflows. Translate business and treasury requirements into clear functional and configuration specifications. Communicate complex treasury and system concepts in a clear and pragmatic manner to both business and technical audiences. Treasury System Implementation Configure and implement treasury and cash management solutions, including: o Settlement instructions and bank account structures o Cash management and liquidity workflows o Payments, confirmations, and bank connectivity o Treasury deal lifecycle (FX, MM, debt, derivatives) o Intercompany and in-house banking setups Support integration with upstream and downstream systems (e.g. ERP, GL, payment hubs, bank channels). Assist with data migration, validation, and reconciliation. Treasury Accounting & Controls Configure and support treasury accounting setups, including: o Deal accounting and valuation o Accruals, amortisation, and revaluation o Posting to General Ledger Support hedge accounting configurations for FX and debt hedges (fair value, cash flow, and net investment hedges), where applicable. Ensure implementations align with accounting standards, internal controls, and audit requirements. Testing, Go-Live & Support Define and execute functional testing, UAT support, and defect resolution. Support clients through go-live and hypercare phases. Provide post-implementation support, enhancements, and advisory services as required. Required Experience & Skills Treasury & Domain Expertise Strong understanding of corporate treasury operations , including: o Cash and liquidity management o FX, money markets, and debt instruments o Payments and bank connectivity o Treasury controls and risk management Practical experience implementing or supporting treasury management systems , ideally: o FIS o ION Treasury o GTreasury Solid knowledge of treasury accounting principles. Understanding of hedge accounting for FX and debt is highly desirable. Consulting & Communication Skills Proven ability to work in a client-facing consulting role . Comfortable engaging with senior treasury stakeholders and finance leadership. Strong requirements analysis, problem-solving, and documentation skills. Ability to balance functional, technical, and business perspectives. Technical & Systems Awareness Good understanding of: o Treasury system configuration concepts o Payment workflows and settlement processes o System integrations (files, APIs, ERP interfaces) Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, even if not a hands-on developer. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g. ACT, CFA, CPA) are a plus but not required.
