Company Description
FlightHelp is a specialized legal company dedicated to enforcing air passenger rights under EU Regulation 261/2004 (EC 261). We help passengers claim fair compensation for delayed, cancelled, or overbooked flights by managing disputes and litigation against airlines.
Role Description
FlightHelp is seeking a qualified In House Litigation Solicitor in Ireland to manage legal claims against airlines in Irish courts. The main focus of this role is preparing, filing, and managing court claims and order for payment procedures to recover compensation for air passengers. You will regularly handle "docket calls" and move motions in the District Court when airlines refuse settlement - so if you have never entered a courtroom, you aren't a fit. You will work closely with our international legal and claims operations team to optimize litigation strategy and maximize recovery rates in Ireland.
Responsabilities:
- Prepare, draft, and submit legal claims, payment orders, and court actions against airlines to Irish courts.
- Manage litigation cases end-to-end, maintaining accurate documentation, adhering to court deadlines, and overseeing legal proceedings.
- Review disputed or rejected airline compensation claims under EU Regulation 261/2004 and establish appropriate legal actions.
- Draft court submissions, legal notices, and responses to airline defense pleadings.
- Negotiate settlements and manage out-of-court disputes with airlines operating in Ireland.
Monitor legal developments, jurisdiction split, and court precedent regarding passenger rights and civil litigation in Ireland.
Qualifications:
- Qualified solicitor admitted to practice law in Ireland and a member in good standing of the Law Society of Ireland.
- Proven experience in civil litigation, court proceedings, and legal claim submissions in Ireland.
- Professional proficiency in English (spoken and written).
- Strong legal drafting, research, and dispute resolution skills.
- Ability to handle high-volume claims efficiently and meet strict court deadlines.
- Self-starter capable of working independently in a remote environment.
- Knowledge or prior experience in EU Regulation 261/2004, consumer protection litigation, or aviation law is strongly preferred.
What we offer:
- Competitive compensation.
- Flexible working model with remote work capabilities.
- Opportunity to work in a dynamic, growing international legal environment.
- Direct involvement in shaping litigation strategy in Ireland.
