Role Description The Independent Debt Recovery Agent is a full-time remote role responsible for managing a portfolio of overdue accounts and securing payment arrangements in a professional and compliant manner. Day-to-day tasks include contacting debtors via phone, email, and digital channels, negotiating repayment plans, and documenting all interactions accurately in the appropriate systems. The agent will analyze account information, verify outstanding balances, and identify the most effective recovery strategies while maintaining respectful, solutions-focused communication. The role also involves providing regular progress updates to clients, adhering to relevant regulations and company policies, and collaborating with internal teams when needed to resolve complex cases.

Qualifications

• Strong Debt Collection skills, including negotiation, account follow-up, and adherence to applicable regulations.
• Solid Analytical Skills to review account data, identify trends, and recommend appropriate recovery strategies.
• Excellent Communication and Customer Service skills to engage with debtors and clients in a professional, respectful manner.
• Basic understanding of Finance concepts related to credit, payment plans, and outstanding balances.
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively, and handle a high volume of accounts.
• Experience in debt recovery, credit control, or collections is preferred.
• Comfort using CRM or collections software, as well as standard office and communication tools.
• Relevant certificate, diploma, or degree in finance, business, or a related field is beneficial.
