We're looking for a n Industrialization Engineer to join our Optronics team in Granada, Spain. Our Technology: Safran is a global leader in optronics, delivering cutting-edge electro-optical systems for defense, aerospace, and security applications. Our portfolio features cutting-edge multispectral imaging technologies, including both infrared and visible spectrum sensors. These technologies are integrated into airborne, naval, and land platforms, supporting missions from surveillance and reconnaissance to targeting and navigation. Safran’s optronic solutions are trusted by armed forces worldwide for their reliability, performance, and technological superiority. We’re also a world leader in Resilient Positioning, Navigation and Timing (R-PNT) solutions that improve the reliability, performance and safety of critical applications, and high-risk operations, even in GPS/GNSS denied environments. We provide virtually fail-safe GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) and PNT (Positioning, Navigation and Timing) solutions for military and commercial applications worldwide. To this end, we have developed industry-leading solutions that are built around a sound foundation of ultra-accurate synchronization (sub-ns) and frequency distribution services. These combine to deliver a broad set of products and technical solutions based on the enhanced White Rabbit PTP (Precision Time Protocol) synchronization technology for myriad applications, ranging from timing distribution in financial networks to robust and reliable positioning. In addition, we are experts on control systems and diagnostics applications for particle accelerators and scientific facilities. We provide highly innovative elements and dependable solutions with always time at the essence of the solution. The Position: We are looking for an Industrialization Engineer who is highly motivated to work with a talented and diverse engineering team to support the transition of innovative aerospace, defense, and optronic products from development into industrial production. As part of the Engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring that products are manufacturable, testable, scalable, cost-effective, and sustainable throughout their full lifecycle. You will play a key role in evaluating industrial risks, defining manufacturing strategies, and ensuring that product designs are optimized for efficient serial production and long-term support. The ideal candidate for this role is someone who can work proactively and closely with Hardware, FPGA, Software, Mechanical, Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to ensure successful industrialization and production readiness. What you’ll be doing: Work with a friendly and positive team to transform innovative aerospace and defense products into reliable, sustainable, and scalable industrial solutions. You will work on international projects involving advanced electronic, embedded, optronic, and mission-critical systems. You will have responsibility for assessing industrial viability, manufacturability, scalability, lifecycle sustainability, and production readiness from the earliest stages of product development. Collaborate with Hardware, FPGA, Software, Mechanical, Production Test, Quality, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to ensure that industrial requirements are considered throughout the entire product lifecycle. Lead Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Test (DFT) activities to optimize production efficiency, reduce complexity, improve yield, and ensure repeatable manufacturing processes. Define and support industrial validation activities, including prototype builds, pilot production runs, pre-series manufacturing, and production ramp-up plans. Evaluate industrial risks and define mitigation strategies covering manufacturing, supply chain, quality, compliance, and lifecycle-related challenges. Assess supply chain robustness, supplier maturity, component availability, and long-term sourcing strategies, including multi-sourcing approaches for critical parts when feasible. Drive component lifecycle and obsolescence management activities to ensure long-term product support and controlled product evolution. Support cost optimization initiatives across the Bill of Materials (BOM), manufacturing processes, testing activities, and supply chain operations while maintaining product performance and reliability. Coordinate with manufacturing partners, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to establish robust industrial processes and production capabilities. You will have effective, constant communication with project partners, suppliers, project managers, and stakeholders from project kick-off through production deployment. You will prepare industrialization plans, readiness assessments, technical documentation, risk analyses, and project deliverables. You will participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on manufacturing excellence, quality enhancement, supply chain resilience, and cost competitiveness. What you Bring to Safran : A Bachelor’s or master’s degree in I ndustrial , Mechanical, Electronic, Telecommunications, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or Computer Engineering. Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Test (DFT) methodologies. Knowledge of product industrialization processes and transition from development to serial production. Experience performing manufacturability assessments, production readiness evaluations, and industrial risk analysis. Understanding of supply chain management, supplier qualification, multi-sourcing strategies, and procurement constraints. Knowledge of component lifecycle management, obsolescence monitoring, and long-term product support strategies. Experience with cost analysis, cost optimization, and value engineering activities. Knowledge of industrial validation, qualification processes, pilot builds, and production ramp-up activities. Familiarity with quality management systems, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience with technical documentation, configuration management, and product lifecycle management processes. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to balance technical, industrial, schedule, and cost considerations. Minimal experience required: 3 years. Desirable skills. The company will positively consider knowledge and experience working with: Aerospace, defense, avionics, or high-reliability electronic products.
