IT Engineer – Hybrid | Castlebar, Co. Mayo

Are you an IT graduate looking to start your career, or an experienced IT professional seeking a new opportunity?

Arcon Recruitment is seeking an IT Engineer for our client, a technology business based in Castlebar.

This role could suit a graduate with strong technical knowledge, good problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn. Candidates with relevant IT support experience are also encouraged to apply.

This is a hybrid role. Candidates must be based in the West of Ireland and within commuting distance of Castlebar to attend the office as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to employees and users.
• Support cloud platforms, digital identity systems and business applications.
• Monitor infrastructure, service endpoints and data pipelines.
• Assist with application testing, integrations and mobile app rollouts.
• Use scripting and automation to improve processes.
• Maintain technical documentation and support guides.
• Contribute to IT projects and information security initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

• A degree or equivalent qualification in IT, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of Bash, PowerShell or Python.
• Familiarity with cloud services and SaaS platforms.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive approach and enthusiasm for developing your technical skills.

Graduate applicants are welcome — previous professional IT experience is not essential.
