Code Wizards Group is a world leader in backend and multiplayer infrastructure for the gaming industry. From high-scale AAA console and PC games to fast-paced mobile indie titles, we empower studios to bring multiplayer experiences to life.
We are looking for an organised, proactive IT Systems and Compliance Administrator to help maintain our internal IT infrastructure and support our information security and compliance activities.
You’ll work across on-premises and cloud environments, including AWS, Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365, helping to ensure systems are secure, reliable and well maintained.
You’ll also coordinate day-to-day ISO 27001 compliance activities, maintain evidence and documentation, support audits and help complete security assessments from clients and partners.
The role is primarily focused on internal systems and compliance, although you may occasionally support technical or security activities across the wider Code Wizards Group.
Key responsibilities
Systems administration
Administer and troubleshoot on-premises servers, virtual machines and supporting infrastructure.
Support services across AWS, Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
Maintain patching, monitoring, backups, access controls and secure configurations.
Support identity and access management, including onboarding and offboarding.
Investigate infrastructure and security issues and escalate where appropriate.
Maintain accurate system documentation, inventories and operational procedures.
Support backup restoration testing, disaster recovery and infrastructure improvement activities.
Information security and compliance
Maintain the ISO 27001 compliance schedule and ensure recurring activities are completed on time.
Maintain ISMS documentation, policies, asset records, risk records and corrective actions.
Coordinate activities such as access reviews, supplier reviews, security awareness and vulnerability remediation.
Gather and maintain evidence for internal and external audits.
Track audit findings and remediation actions through to completion.
Help ensure documented controls remain aligned with business and technical practices.
Security assessments
Prepare responses to security questionnaires, due diligence requests and client or partner assessments.
Work with internal stakeholders to verify responses and gather evidence.
Maintain a library of approved security responses and supporting documentation.
Track deadlines, follow-up questions and resulting actions.
Escalate gaps, unclear requirements or significant commitments for review.
Essential experience and skills
Experience working in systems administration or an infrastructure-focused IT role.
Experience with on-premises servers and virtualised environments.
Hands-on experience with AWS or Microsoft Azure, with familiarity with the other.
Experience supporting Microsoft 365.
Good understanding of networking, identity and access management, backups, patching and secure administration.
Strong troubleshooting, organisation and documentation skills.
Clear written and verbal communication.
An interest in information security and ISO 27001.
Ability to work independently while recognising when escalation is required.
Desirable experience
Proxmox, VMware, Hyper-V or similar virtualisation platforms.
Administration across both AWS and Azure.
Microsoft Entra ID, Intune and Defender.
Windows Server and Linux.
ISO 27001, audit preparation or compliance evidence gathering.
Security questionnaires or supplier assessments.
Vulnerability management, disaster recovery or business continuity testing.
PowerShell, Bash or other scripting experience.
Relevant Microsoft, AWS or information security certifications.
Support and development
You’ll work closely with the Head of IT and have the opportunity to develop your experience across infrastructure, cloud technologies, information security and ISO 27001 compliance.
We welcome applicants with strong systems administration foundations who are still developing experience in some of the technologies or compliance areas listed above.
What success looks like
Internal systems are secure, reliable and well documented.
Maintenance and compliance activities are completed on time.
Audit evidence and compliance records are organised and up to date.
Security and remediation actions are followed through to completion.
Client and partner security assessments are completed accurately and consistently.
