Infrastructure Engineer (On-Prem)

Our purpose is Keeping the World Flowing for Future Generations. We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Engineer (On-Prem) to join our team in Chennai, India. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our on-premises infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security of our IT systems. Design and implement on-premises infrastructure solutions to meet business requirements Manage and maintain server hardware, networking equipment, and storage systems Implement and support virtualisation technologies to optimise resource utilisation Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies Automate routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce human error Monitor system performance and conduct regular health checks Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and implement appropriate solutions Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of infrastructure components Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical systems Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field 5-7 years of experience in managing on-premises infrastructure Proven expertise in server hardware, networking equipment, and storage systems Strong knowledge of virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware) Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python) Solid understanding of network protocols and security principles Experience with monitoring and performance tuning tools Familiarity with IT service management practices and frameworks Knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity planning Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, CCNA, VMware VCP) are desirable Experience in data centre operations is a plus Rotork is the market-leading global flow control and instrumentation company, helping our customers manage the flow or liquids, gases and powders across many industries worldwide.
