About the Role
Join Advannor and play a key role in the infrastructure that powers complex industrial and critical environments. As an Infrastructure & Virtualization Engineer, you will manage and evolve VMware vSphere environments that support both IT and OT systems, and help shape what comes next as platforms move towards hypervisor alternatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain and optimise VMware vSphere environments (v8/v9) across IT and OT infrastructure.

• Plan and execute upgrades and migrations in production, ensuring continuity and reliability.

• Evaluate hypervisor alternatives to VMware (e.g. Proxmox, Hyper-V, Nutanix) and provide technical recommendations.

• Configure and manage virtualisation in complex environments, including offshore sites: virtual disks, failover and high availability.

• Support the infrastructure behind SCADA systems and Industrial PCs (IPCs).

• Automate and standardise infrastructure management using tools such as Ansible, Terraform or PowerShell/PowerCLI.

• Work with IT and OT teams to make sure solutions meet both sets of requirements.

• Keep technical documentation accurate and up to date.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in infrastructure or systems engineering.

• Solid hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, including ESXi and vCenter.

• Proven experience with migrations and upgrades in production environments.

• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux server environments.

• Experience with high availability, failover and disaster recovery configurations.

• Ability to explain technical decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Fluent English, spoken and written.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of at least one VMware alternative (Proxmox, Hyper-V, Nutanix or similar).

• Experience with Ansible, Terraform or PowerShell/PowerCLI.

• Networking fundamentals in virtualized environments.

• Familiarity with OT or critical infrastructure (SCADA, ICS, wind energy, utilities).

• Experience with IPCs or edge computing in constrained environments.

• Knowledge of OT cybersecurity principles.
