Inside Sales Representative - Motors & Drives (National Division)

Remote Anywhere in the U.S. or On-Site at an ESR Location The Opportunity ESR Motor Systems is seeking an experienced Inside Sales Representative to join our National Division, selling industrial electric motors, variable frequency drives, gearboxes, and related power transmission products to reseller customers throughout the United States and around the world. Our National Division primarily supports electric motor repair shops, power transmission distributors, and electrical distributors that rely on ESR for product availability, competitive pricing, technical knowledge, and fast response. This is a true sales position—not simply an order-entry role. ESR provides a steady flow of quote opportunities, and your job is to respond quickly, understand what the customer needs, source the right solution, provide a competitive quote, follow up, and win the business. As you build relationships, customers naturally begin working with you directly, allowing you to develop a strong book of repeat business. You will also have the opportunity to prospect and develop new accounts, with additional commission paid on business you develop from scratch. This position may be fully remote from anywhere in the United States or based at one of our seven locations in Rock Hill, SC; Atlanta, GA; Mechanicsburg, PA; Indianapolis, IN; Houston, TX; Grand Prairie, TX; or San Antonio, TX. What You’ll Do Respond quickly to customer inquiries and quote requests by phone and email. Identify customer requirements and source the appropriate motors, drives, gearboxes, and related products. Prepare accurate, competitive quotations and follow up consistently to win the business. Build strong customer relationships that generate repeat business. Process orders and coordinate purchasing of special-order products. Provide order status, shipment information, and expedited support when needed. Prospect and develop new reseller accounts to create additional sales and earning potential. Maintain accurate customer and opportunity information in ESR’s CRM and ERP systems. What We’re Looking For At least two years of inside sales experience in the electric motor, power transmission, or closely related industrial distribution industry. Strong working knowledge of industrial electric motors and related products. Medium-voltage motor sales experience is a plus. Strong sales instincts and a desire to win business—not simply process transactions. Excellent communication, follow-up, organization, and attention to detail. Ability to understand customer requirements, identify alternatives, and source appropriate solutions. Self-motivated and accountable, with the discipline to succeed in a remote or independently managed environment. Comfortable working with CRM, ERP, Microsoft Office, email, and other sales technology. Compensation Base salary: $65,000–$75,000 , depending on experience and industry knowledge. Uncapped commission based on gross profit generated. Additional commission opportunity on new accounts you personally develop. Established representatives handling a strong volume of business can earn approximately $80,000–$90,000+ , with additional upside through new account development.
