TLI is passionate about equipping pastors in the Global South to shepherd God's people. Accordingly, we are looking for qualified men to serve as Instructors in seminaries overseas. Instructors are required to take 4-5 international trips each year. The ideal candidate has a terminal degree in New Testament, dreams in koine Greek, and has named all his dogs after characters in the Greek Pantheon. He has been known to knit tiny sweaters for his Greek grammars and take them for a stroll when the weather is fine. In sum, the man so loves the Greek New Testament that it irrevocably infects his students, causing them to strive to master the skills necessary to interpret and teach the Scriptures faithfully. Moreover, he has a deep commitment to and experience in the local church, and competency in creating and teaching formal courses cross-culturally. Though an ability to squat 700# is a desideratum, it is not required.
While in the US, Instructors help coordinate the work with TLI partner colleges and seminaries as well as working on research and writing projects. Instructors must develop their own personal support network.
