We are looking for an Instrumentation and Controls Technician to support our engineered brands. This role will work out of our Lee, NH location.

The job:

As our Instrumentation and Controls Technician, you will provide hands-on electrical and automation support to customers, including troubleshooting, installation, calibration, commissioning, and maintenance of industrial control systems. You will work directly with customers to diagnose and resolve equipment issues, perform system testing, and ensure electrical and instrumentation components operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.

You will interpret and update electrical schematics, control panel drawings, and P&IDs while inspecting electrical connections, instrumentation, and motor control equipment. You will also install and replace control panels, field instrumentation, conduit, wiring, and related electrical components. When field service work is not scheduled, you will support shop operations by assisting with the assembly, wiring, and testing of industrial control panels. Additionally, you will support system startups, preventative maintenance, and ongoing service activities while collaborating with customers and internal teams to resolve technical challenges.

The skills, education, and experience you need:

To succeed in this role, you must have experience with:

  • Troubleshooting, testing, calibrating, and maintaining industrial instrumentation and electrical control systems.

  • Working with PLC-based control systems, including input/output signals, loop checks, and functional testing.

  • Reading, interpreting, and updating electrical schematics, control panel drawings, and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).

  • Using electrical testing equipment, field metering devices, and instrumentation calibration tools.

  • Understanding electrical control panels, motor control centers (MCCs), and associated electrical components.

  • Installing, troubleshooting, and replacing field instrumentation, electrical control equipment, conduit, and wiring.

  • Assembling, wiring, and testing industrial electrical control panels using electrical drawings and wiring schematics.

  • Working safely around industrial electrical equipment and various voltage levels, including low- and high-voltage systems.

  • Performing equipment startups, commissioning, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of existing systems.

  • Understanding industrial processes and the interaction between field instrumentation, electrical equipment, and automation systems.

  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.

  • Ability to work independently in the field and collaboratively with shop personnel and internal technical teams.
