Job Description
This is a hybrid role open to candidates located in Jersey City, NJ and the surrounding North Jersey area.
Our client is seeking an Insurance Defense Attorney for its North Jersey team.
Location: Hybrid Schedule: 2 -3 days a week in the Jersey City office initially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of insurance defense matters from inception through resolution
- Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, briefs, reports, and other litigation documents
- Conduct and defend depositions, handle motion practice and court appearances
- Participate in arbitration and mediations, prepare matters for trial
- Handle automobile liability matters under New Jersey law
- Maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers, claims professionals, and corporate clients
- Conduct legal research, draft persuasive motions/briefs/memoranda
Requirements
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active NJ law license
- 3 - 8 years of insurance litigation matters
- Experience handling litigation, depositions, and motion
- Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Experience in NJ auto liability defense
- Experience representing insurance carriers or self-insured clients
- Experience in courtroom for trial, arbitration, or mediation
- Experience with premise liability
- Existing relationship with insurance carriers or claims professionals
