Job Description
This is a remote position.
This is a Fully remote role open to candidates located in Western Pennsylvania.
Our client is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney located in Western Pennsylvania to independently manage higher-value and complex matters with minimal supervision.
You will work remotely alongside another attorney in the region, develop case strategy, draft pleadings and discovery, handle court appearances and settlements and help grow the firms Western PA presence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage insurance defense matters from inception through resolution, including higher-value and complex litigation
- Develop case strategy, draft pleadings/motions/briefs/discovery, conduct and defend depositions
- Handle court appearances, mediations, arbitration, settlement conferences, trial preparation
- Take ownership of significant litigation matters with minimal supervision
- Maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers, claims professionals, self-insured entities, and corporate clients
- Help the firm expand its insurance defense presence throughout Western Pennsylvania and build regional relationships
Requirements
- JD from an accredited law school
- Active PA law license
- Substantial insurance defense litigation experience
- Proven ability to manage complex, higher-value matters independently
- Strong research, ting and oral advocacy skills
STRONG PLUS: Large loss, trial and deposition experience, GL/auto/premise/trucking, regional carrier relationships, portable book of business
Preferred: Deep knowledge of the Western PA market and an entrepreneurial approach.
