The Insurance Sales Administration Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Insurance Retentions and Insurance Sales teams, with a primary focus on the accurate and timely processing of policy and signed application cancellations.

The role supports the effective management of retention-related administration, short-term insurance processes, reporting and record maintenance. The successful candidate will contribute to efficient service delivery by ensuring that administrative activities are completed accurately, records are maintained, and queries are appropriately coordinated with clients, insurers and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

· Process and manage policy and signed application cancellation requests accurately and within required timeframes.

· Provide administrative support to the Insurance Retentions and Insurance Sales teams.

· Maintain and update retention statistics, reports and relevant departmental information.

· Ensure client and policy records are accurate, complete and kept up to date.

· Provide administrative support relating to short-term insurance activities and processes.

· Liaise professionally with clients, insurers and internal stakeholders regarding administrative and retention-related matters.

· Handle and respond to administrative queries, ensuring matters are appropriately resolved or escalated where necessary.

· Assist with retention campaigns, initiatives and related administrative activities.

· Maintain accurate documentation and ensure relevant information is readily accessible.

· Perform general departmental administration and provide operational support as required.

· Assist with ad hoc administrative duties to support the effective functioning of the department.

· Identify and escalate discrepancies, outstanding information or issues that may impact service delivery.

· Ensure all administrative activities are completed in accordance with applicable internal processes and requirements.

Required Qualifications

· Matric / Grade 12 is essential.

· A relevant administrative, business or insurance qualification would be advantageous.


Required Experience

· Minimum 4 years' administrative experience.

· Previous experience in an insurance environment will be advantageous.

· Experience in a sales administration or customer service environment would be beneficial.

· Experience working with reports, statistics and maintaining accurate records is advantageous.


Required Skills and Knowledge

· Strong administrative and organisational skills.

· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

· Good verbal and written communication skills.

· Computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

· Ability to work with reports, statistics and administrative information.

Teamwork & Collaboration: Works collaboratively with the Retentions team, Insurance Sales teams, clients, insurers and other internal stakeholders. Shares information effectively and contributes positively towards achieving departmental objectives.
