Risk Assessment, Pricing & Policy Excellence Are you a detail-oriented insurance professional with a strong ability to assess risk and make sound underwriting decisions? Our client is seeking an Insurance Underwriter to evaluate insurance proposals, assess risk exposures, and structure appropriate coverage terms, conditions, and premiums in line with company SOPs, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Risk Assessment & Underwriting Decisions Review and assess insurance proposals and supporting documentation. Analyse risk exposures and recommend appropriate coverage terms, conditions, extensions, and pricing. Review quotations, endorsements, and policy documents to ensure accuracy and completeness. Compliance & Portfolio Management Ensure underwriting decisions comply with internal SOPs, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory standards. Monitor portfolio performance and recommend corrective actions where required. Support claims and compliance teams with underwriting input when necessary. Client & Insurer Coordination Liaise with clients to obtain relevant information and documentation required for underwriting. Review submitted documents and engage insurers to obtain required policy documents, endorsements, and certificates. Maintain clear and professional communication with all stakeholders throughout the underwriting process. Ideal Candidate Profile Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 2–4 years relevant underwriting experience. Professional insurance certification or progress toward certification (e.g., ACIIN, ACII) is an advantage. Skills & Competencies Strong analytical and risk assessment skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Sound judgment and decision-making capability. High attention to detail with a strong compliance mindset.
