The next InCommand is a new solution, built on a new technology stack, designed from the ground up for the way modern data centers, including high-density and AI infrastructure, are operated. It will be delivered as a cloud service and be deployable in customers' own environments, built API-first, and developed with an agent-assisted engineering practice in which coding agents work from specifications under human review. Our own facilities are the first customer, so everything we build is proven in real, live operations before anyone else sees it.
Everything the product shows an operator starts at the site: the power chain, the cooling plant, the IT equipment, the building systems, each speaking its own protocol. Getting that data in reliably, from the first facility to the hundredth, is a discipline of its own, and as Integration Lead you own it. It is a clean-sheet design with a rare advantage: a real estate of live data centers to learn from and the people who have kept their data flowing for a decade sitting beside you. You partner closely with Architecture, Product Management and Developer Platform, and you lead and manage a small integrations team that grows as the sites multiply.
Key Accountabilities
-
Design and own the edge collector: store-and-forward, buffering, configuration and upgrades across a fleet of sites, secure outbound-only connectivity across OT and IT network boundaries.
-
Define, in partnership with Architecture, the contract by which site data enters the platform, and own the collector side of it.
-
Build or select the protocol adapters for building automation, power and cooling systems, IT equipment and monitoring gateways, each with a conformance test.
-
Own point mapping and normalisation into the unified asset, power and cooling model: templates, discovery, bulk mapping and validation of a site's data before it goes live.
-
Automate site onboarding so that bringing a new site live takes days rather than weeks, and measure it by the time it takes to onboard the next one.
-
Make telemetry health visible and owned: data flow, gaps and staleness, with the alerts to match.
-
Assess the telemetry stack in use today and recommend its future.
Required Skills
-
8+ years in software or controls engineering, including 3+ leading integrations for industrial IoT, building automation, DCIM or similar operational-technology products.
-
You have integrated equipment over the protocols a data center speaks (BACnet/IP, Modbus TCP and RTU, SNMP, OPC UA, Redfish or IPMI, MQTT), reading vendors' register maps and making them work.
-
You have designed and shipped collector or agent software running at the edge across a fleet of sites, with store-and-forward, remote configuration and upgrades, and secure outbound-only connectivity (TLS, mutual TLS, certificate management).
-
You have built point mapping and normalisation at scale, with discovery, templates and validation, and made each site faster to onboard than the last.
-
You have delivered site data into a platform through MQTT brokers (EMQX, HiveMQ or equivalent) and Kafka-compatible streaming (Kafka, Redpanda or equivalent), landing in time-series storage (TimescaleDB, InfluxDB or equivalent).
-
You have packaged and operated edge software in containers (Docker, k3s or equivalent) with fleet or device management across many sites.
-
You have written adapters, mapping tooling and automation in Python.
-
You have built monitoring of telemetry health (data flow, gaps, staleness) with OpenTelemetry, Grafana or equivalent.
Preferred Skills
-
Built on industrial edge or SCADA platforms (Ignition, Node-RED, Telegraf or equivalent) and decided when to build and when to buy at the edge.
-
Modelled building and equipment data with Project Haystack or Brick Schema, or used MQTT Sparkplug B.
-
Applied operational-technology security standards (IEC 62443 or equivalent) and OT/IT network segmentation.
-
Worked with data-center electrical and mechanical systems (switchgear, UPS, PDUs and busways, chillers and CRAHs, liquid cooling) and the data they produce.
-
Led the evaluation and migration of a telemetry or monitoring platform.
-
Led or managed a small team of engineers.
