Down Syndrome Ireland (DSI) is the national charity supporting people with Down syndrome and their families throughout Ireland. We support over 3,500 members across 25 branches and work to ensure people with Down syndrome have access to the services, opportunities and supports they need to live fulfilling and independent lives.
We are seeking an Interim Fundraising & Operations Support Manager to drive fundraising growth in Down Syndrome Ireland Cork. This interim role will focus on developing local corporate partnerships, community fundraising, events, trusts and foundations, and major donor opportunities while supporting and empowering local branches to maximise fundraising potential.
The successful candidate will play a key role in growing income, increasing awareness of Down Syndrome Ireland in Cork, and building strong relationships with businesses, community groups and supporters.

This role is home-based in Cork.
Attendance at Down Syndrome Ireland National Office in Dublin may be required periodically for team meetings, planning days and training.
Contract
Fixed term for 6 months, 15 hours per week. Salary €60,000 pro rata for 15 hours = €24,000.
The role is an interim role to provide support while identifying and recruiting a permanent position.

Key Duties And Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy
- Drive and implement the fundraising strategy for Cork
- Deliver agreed annual income targets and KPIs.
- Build a strong fundraising pipeline across corporate, campaigns, community, major donor and trusts & foundations income streams.
- Work closely with National Office to align regional activity with national fundraising priorities.
- Identify and secure new corporate partnerships.
- Develop relationships with local employers and businesses.
- Grow existing partnerships and maximise opportunities for employee engagement.
- Support national partnerships with a regional presence.
- Promote payroll giving, sponsorship, volunteering and cause-related marketing opportunities.
- Support the branch to grow existing fundraising events and develop new initiatives.
- Recruit and steward community fundraisers.
- Build relationships with schools, clubs, community groups and local organisations.
- Increase participation in national campaigns including:
- World Down Syndrome Day
- Purple Run
- Christmas Jumper Day
- Ice Cream Fundays
- Research and identify grant opportunities relevant to the region.
- Prepare funding applications and reports.
- Develop relationships with local philanthropists and major donors.
- Work with National Office on larger funding opportunities.
- Act as the primary fundraising contact for the Cork branch.
- Attend branch meetings and events where appropriate.
- Provide fundraising guidance and support to branch volunteers.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and reporting.
- Increase visibility of Down Syndrome Ireland.
- Represent DSI at networking events and community engagements.
- Build relationships with local media and stakeholders.
- Promote employment, education and inclusion initiatives through corporate engagement.
- Support the Operations Manager in running the day to day operations
- Provide cover for the Operations Manager as required
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' fundraising, sales, business development or partnership management experience.
- Proven ability to build relationships and secure income.
- Strong networking and communication skills.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent written and presentation skills.
- Strong organisational and project management abilities.
- Full clean driving licence and access to a car.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Passion for the mission of Down Syndrome Ireland.
- Experience in corporate fundraising or community fundraising.
- Knowledge of CRM systems.
- Experience working with volunteers.
- Understanding of the charity sector.
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience
