About the Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Interim Head of Finance to join a well-established financial services organisation operating within the investment and asset management sector.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior finance professional to take ownership of an established finance function during a period of significant organisational transformation.

The organisation is undergoing changes to its operating model, with a focus on strengthening financial controls, improving reporting processes, enhancing data infrastructure and transitioning certain operational activities to external providers.

As Interim Head of Finance, you will provide stability, strategic direction and hands-on leadership while supporting the organisation's long-term development.

You will lead a team of approximately 12-13 finance professionals across Accounting, Financial Reporting, Business Control and Oversight, working closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities



Finance Leadership & Management

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across the Finance department, ensuring business continuity throughout organisational change.

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of approximately 12-13 finance professionals.

• Oversee Accounting, Financial Reporting, Business Control and financial governance activities.

• Foster a collaborative, supportive and high-performing team environment.

• Maintain operational effectiveness while guiding the department through its transition.

Financial Reporting & Compliance

• Take ownership of the timely preparation and delivery of annual financial statements.

• Ensure financial reporting meets Dutch and international regulatory requirements.

• Oversee financial controls, reporting accuracy and compliance obligations.

• Maintain audit readiness and manage relationships with internal and external auditors.

• Identify financial risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.

Finance Transformation & Change Management

• Lead the transition from the existing finance operating model towards a more efficient future-state structure.

• Support the outsourcing of selected operational finance activities.

• Drive improvements in financial processes, reporting structures and internal controls.

• Identify opportunities to improve finance technology, data infrastructure and business intelligence capabilities.

• Ensure changes are implemented effectively while maintaining team engagement and operational stability.

Strategic Finance & Business Partnering

• Act as a trusted financial adviser to senior management and other key stakeholders.

• Contribute to financial strategy, planning, budgeting and forecasting.

• Support business case development for new initiatives, investments and products.

• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

• Challenge existing processes constructively and promote continuous improvement.

Stakeholder & Governance Management

• Build strong relationships with senior executives, board-level stakeholders, auditors and external partners.

• Communicate financial performance, risks and transformation progress clearly.

• Ensure alignment between Finance operations and wider organisational objectives.

• Promote strong governance, accountability and regulatory compliance.

Required Experience & Qualifications

We are looking for an experienced finance leader with a strong background in regulated financial services.

Essential Requirements

• Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related discipline.

• Relevant professional qualification such as RA, RC, CPA or CMA.

• Minimum 9-10 years of professional experience within financial services.

• At least 4-5 years of experience in a senior finance management or interim leadership position.

• Demonstrable experience managing finance teams and overseeing financial operations.

• Strong background in financial reporting, annual accounts, internal controls and audit processes.

• Experience leading finance transformations, organisational restructuring or operational improvements.

• Strong understanding of Dutch and international financial regulations.

• Experience advising senior management and engaging with executive-level stakeholders.

• Ability to operate independently and take ownership of complex financial responsibilities.

Highly Desirable

• Previous experience within investment management, asset management or banking.

• Experience implementing new finance operating models.

• Exposure to outsourcing or transitioning operational finance activities.

• Experience improving finance systems, BI capabilities and data infrastructure.

• Previous interim Head of Finance, Finance Director or senior Finance & Control leadership experience.

• Familiarity with the Dutch financial regulatory environment.
