Interim SEC Reporting & Accounting Support (Part-Time Contract, Maternity Leave Coverage)
Location: Hybrid (Denver Tech Center office) or Remote
Engagement: Part-time contract, November through mid-February
Rate: $90-105/hour, based on experience
Our client, a publicly traded company, is looking for an experienced accounting professional to support its team while the VP of Accounting is on maternity leave. This is a hands-on review role for someone who has worked through a public company 10-Q cycle and can step in with little ramp-up. You'll work closely with the accounting team and the company's third-party consultants to keep the close and quarterly filing on track.
Schedule
- November–December: about 20 hours per week for training and transition with the VP of Accounting
- January–mid-February: about 30 hours per week supporting the quarter-end close and 10-Q filing
Exact dates will be confirmed closer to the start.
What You'll Do
- Review and tie out the 10-Q in DFIN ActiveDisclosure, including XBRL tagging
- Review month-end account reconciliations prepared by the accounting team
- Prepare technical accounting memos on lower-risk topics
- Review complex technical accounting memos prepared by third-party consultants
- Work independently and keep the team's reporting timeline moving while the VP is out
What You Bring
- Public company SEC reporting experience, including 10-Q review and tie-out
- Hands-on experience with DFIN ActiveDisclosure and XBRL
- NetSuite experience
- Experience reviewing reconciliations and technical accounting memos
- The ability to learn a new environment quickly and work with minimal oversight
Nice to Have
- Experience building saved searches and reports in NetSuite
- A Big 4 or public accounting background and/or a CPA
Why This Role
This is a well-defined, flexible engagement with a clear term and a strong team behind it. It's a good fit for an independent consultant, an SEC reporting professional between roles, or someone who wants meaningful part-time work through the winter.
