๐ฉ โ ๏ธHOW TO APPLYโ ๏ธ๐ฉ
Please submit your resume and portfolio primarily via email at support@buildtxsolutions.com, as we require several supporting materials to properly evaluate your application.
Your portfolio should include examples of material palettes, finish selections, fixture schedules, and residential projects where you were directly responsible for product sourcing and specifications.
We're especially interested in seeing your actual material selection work, not just renderings or completed project photography.
CH Interior Design Studio is a luxury interior design firm specializing in custom residential homes, high-end renovations, and new construction projects throughout the DallasโFort Worth area and select markets across the United States.
We believe exceptional design is found in the details, from thoughtfully curated materials and finishes to lighting, plumbing fixtures, hardware, and architectural elements that bring a space to life.
As our studio continues to grow, we're looking for a talented, detail-oriented Interior Designer with a strong background in material selections, product sourcing, and specifications to join our team.
About the RoleWe're looking for someone who has an exceptional eye for design, understands how materials work together, and genuinely enjoys researching, sourcing, and curating beautiful products.
This is a hands-on design position focused primarily on selecting, sourcing, coordinating, and specifying materials, finishes, fixtures, and hardware for luxury residential projects.
You'll work closely with our Interior Design Director to translate the creative vision for each project into thoughtfully curated selections that align with the design intent, project budget, construction requirements, and timeline.
The ideal candidate doesn't just wait to be told what to select. They proactively research products, identify suitable alternatives, and present well-developed options for review and approval.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaterial & Finish Selections
- Research, source, and curate materials and finishes for luxury residential projects.
- Develop selections for flooring, tile, natural stone, countertops, cabinetry finishes, wall treatments, and decorative materials.
- Source and recommend decorative lighting, plumbing fixtures, door and cabinet hardware, and other architectural details.
- Create cohesive material palettes that align with the overall design direction.
- Present multiple well-researched options that balance aesthetics, quality, budget, and availability.
Product Sourcing & Specifications
- Research manufacturers, vendors, showrooms, and product collections.
- Prepare detailed selection schedules and specification sheets, including manufacturer, model number, finish, dimensions, pricing, and lead times.
- Identify alternative products when selections exceed budget, are discontinued, or have extended lead times.
- Maintain organized product libraries, samples, and selection documentation.
- Stay informed about emerging materials, products, finishes, and luxury residential design trends.
Design Collaboration
- Work directly with the Interior Design Director to understand each project's design vision.
- Independently develop curated selection packages for director review and approval.
- Incorporate feedback efficiently and refine selections as needed.
- Collaborate with architectural designers, project managers, procurement, and construction teams to ensure selections are practical and executable.
- Coordinate with vendors and showrooms to obtain samples, technical information, and pricing.
Project Coordination
- Complete material selections according to established project milestones.
- Maintain accurate selection schedules and communicate changes to relevant departments.
- Verify product compatibility, availability, and installation requirements before submitting selections for approval.
- Help minimize delays caused by incomplete specifications, product availability, or late design decisions.
- Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field preferred.
- 3โ5+ years of residential interior design experience, preferably in luxury custom homes or high-end renovations.
- Demonstrated experience independently selecting and specifying materials, finishes, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and hardware.
- Strong knowledge of residential construction materials, manufacturers, and vendor resources.
- Exceptional design taste and ability to create cohesive material palettes.
- Experience developing finish schedules, fixture schedules, and product specification packages.
- Ability to understand construction drawings, elevations, and design plans.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage selections across multiple projects.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence presenting design recommendations.
- Familiarity with design software and project management tools is a plus.
You're someone with a natural eye for beautiful materials, thoughtful combinations, and the details that elevate a space. Whether exploring digital catalogs, researching new collections, or developing a complete finish palette, you know how to bring a cohesive design vision to life.
You know the difference between selecting something beautiful and selecting something that's beautiful, functional, available, and appropriate for the project.
You're resourceful, proactive, highly organized, and comfortable taking ownership of the selection process while working remotely.
You don't need constant direction to find the right products. You understand the design vision, do the research, and bring thoughtful recommendations to the table.
Most importantly, you love the details that make a home exceptional.
