About The Opportunity

Our public sector client is seeking three Intermediate IT Auditors to support annual financial audits of Government of Canada entities. The successful candidates will work as part of an established audit team, providing support related to Information Technology General Controls, ITGCs, systems audits, audit documentation and financial audit activities.

The work will be completed in accordance with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards and established audit and documentation standards.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct interviews with stakeholders to obtain an understanding of IT General Controls
  • Obtain and analyze evidence relating to the design, implementation and operating effectiveness of IT General Controls
  • Identify and document weaknesses in IT controls
  • Complete and document assigned audit procedures and audit steps
  • Prepare clear and complete electronic audit working papers
  • Document audit work in accordance with established audit standards and practices
  • Review and respond to comments and review notes from audit project leaders and directors
  • Coordinate information and documentation requests with audited organizations
  • Participate in meetings with management and audit team members
  • Support debriefings outlining the audit work completed and resulting findings

The requirement specifically involves assessing ITGC design, implementation and operating effectiveness and documenting the audit work in TeamMate+.

About You

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • A degree or diploma in Finance or Accounting, or a recognized professional audit or accounting designation.
  • A minimum of 24 months of experience performing financial audits.
  • A minimum of 24 months of cumulative experience performing information technology and systems audits.
  • A professional designation in at least one of the following:
    • CPA
    • CPA, CA
    • CPA, CGA
    • CPA, CMA
    • CISA
    • CISM
    • CRISC
    • CISSP
  • Strong experience assessing IT controls, documenting audit evidence and preparing audit working papers
  • Ability to clearly demonstrate where, when and how relevant audit experience was acquired.
  • English language proficiency
  • A valid Reliability Status security clearance
About the Job

  • Duration: October 2026 to March 31, 2027
  • Hours: Up to approximately 720 hours
  • Location: Canada
  • Work Environment: Remote. Candidates located in the National Capital Region may have the opportunity to join the audit team onsite in downtown Ottawa. Candidates located in another time zone must be able to align their working hours with the Ottawa based audit team
