Intern

TWAAM Labs is a UAE sovereign AI company. We build population and policy simulations that help government and private entities understand how people, communities, and markets may respond to a decision before it is made. Our work sits where AI, data science, and public policy meet. We care about rigorous methods, trustworthy results, and keeping sensitive data and capability within the UAE.

As a Research Intern, you will work on real research questions with our team, from the first literature review to the final findings. You will have a dedicated mentor, regular check-ins, and room to explore ideas of your own. The role is mostly remote, so you can join from anywhere and fit your hours around your studies or other commitments.

• Research topics in AI, population modeling and public policy
• Write articles for the TWAAM Labs website
• Write memos for the team
• Help design, calibrate and test simulation scenarios
• Write and organize research notes
• Lead a small research project of your own and present it at the end of your internship

• A student or recent graduate in data science, computer science, economics, public policy, statistics, sociology, demography or a related field
• Strong reading, writing and analytical skills
• Experience with Python, R or a similar tool for data analysis is a plus
• Interest in AI, simulation, or how policy affects people
• Self-motivation and the discipline to work independently in a remote setting
• Clear written communication in English; Arabic is a plus
