About The Role

We are involved in complex, global and high-stakes construction, and infrastructure projects. Our clients come to us when they are encountering challenges and opportunities and need to partner with an organisation with deep industry experience and an understanding of what it takes to successfully deliver such projects.

FTI Consulting’s Construction, Projects and Assets (CP&A) team is a market leading practice with 350+ professionals located in major commercial centres across the globe. Our team comprises people who have come from industry and/or management consulting organisations (Big 4, MBB etc). Collectively the team has vast experience across a wide range of sectors and in advising our clients across the whole project lifecycle.

Our CP&A practice has a comprehensive set of Advisory & Transformation offerings that our clients rely on to solve their complex problems. These range from strategic advisory work at the initial stages of a program, consulting services to set up an effective delivery organization, implementation of leading technology and controls environments to embedding within a client’s organisation to turn around a distressed project.

What You’ll Do

FTI Consulting's CP&A team is a group of professionals with experience in advisory and transformation service offerings to help continue the growth of our practice across EMEA.

We are recruiting for the internship position in our Madrid office, starting in January 2027, for six months. While the role will be primarily based in Madrid, candidates can expect the opportunity to work on international projects and be part of a dynamic, global environment.

Interns are matched with a Coach (mentor) and an Orientation Advisor to connect with throughout the internship program. We offer access to senior leadership team and the opportunity to complete meaningful tasks, working closely with project teams on real client work.

What You Will Need to Succeed

Basic Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a full-time bachelor’s degree, with a graduation date between June 2024 and December 2026

• Available to begin a 6-month internship between January 2027

• Able to commit to 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship

• Proficiency in Spanish and English (spoken and written) 

Preferred Qualifications

• Software development experience is required, particularly proficiency in:

• Programming Languages: core backend language like Python, Node.js/JavaScript, Java, Typescript, HTML, etc.

• Databases: Proficiency in relational (SQL like PostgreSQL) databases.

• APIs & Architecture: Knowledge of RESTful API design, HTTP methods, and architectural pattern.

• Version Control: Familiarity with Git for tracking changes, branching, and collaborative workflows.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical coding bootcamp experience.

• Previous consulting experience is an asset, including skills in communication, analytical thinking, client management, teamwork, ability.
