What will you do?

Below are some of the primary responsibilities you will be taking on in this role. There will be more, but we can discuss those in person.

  • Assist with preparing and processing cash calls and recording project-related transactions;
  • Support cash flow tracking and bank reconciliation processes;
  • Assist with monthly account reconciliations and analysis of project costs and budgets;
  • Help prepare journal entries and maintain supporting schedules and working papers;
  • Work with Accounts Payable and project teams to support accurate and timely invoice processing;
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly construction draw packages and cost tracking reports;
  • Support month-end close procedures, including gathering supporting documentation and preparing reconciliations;
  • Help maintain organized project accounting files and records;
  • Assist in the preparation of internal financial reports and management reporting packages;
  • Provide support during audits and tax compliance processes;
  • Collaborate with Finance, Development, and other internal teams on various project-related initiatives;
  • Assist with lender, government, and partner reporting requirements as needed; and
  • Support special projects and other team members as required.

What type of experience do you have?

In addition to being an assertive self-starter and strong communicator with a positive attitude, you need to be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, with a focus on Accounting or Business Administration.

The following are the keys to your success with us:

  • Currently pursuing, or recently completed, a degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business, or a related field;
  • Strong interest in accounting, finance, and the real estate industry;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel;
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and desire to grow professionally;
  • Experience with accounting software or ERP systems is considered an asset; and
  • Previous internship, co-op, or accounting-related work experience is considered an asset but is not required.
