We’re seeking someone to join our team as an Internal Reporting Expert to work in our Finance Division.

This role sits at the intersection of regulatory capital, internal management reporting, and reporting modernization. You’ll help deliver and enhance internal reporting and analysis across Risk-Weighted Assets (RWA), regulatory capital, leverage and balance sheet, translating complex regulatory and financial information into clear, actionable insights for Finance and senior stakeholders.

You’ll combine an understanding of Basel capital requirements and the drivers of the Firm’s regulatory capital position with a focus on modernizing internal reporting through process simplification, automation and scalable reporting solutions.

Since 1935, Morgan Stanley is known as a global leader in financial services, always evolving and innovating to better serve our clients and our communities in more than 40 countries around the world.

What you’ll do in the role:

Regulatory Capital & Internal Reporting

  • Deliver high-quality internal regulatory capital reporting and analysis across RWA, regulatory capital, leverage, balance sheet and related Basel metrics.
  • Analyze key movements and drivers across capital metrics, connecting product-level developments with the broader Firm-level capital story.
  • Interpret relevant Basel and regulatory requirements and understand their implications for internal reporting, analysis and management information.
  • Support recurring reporting cycles as well as ad hoc analysis, deep dives and management information requests.
  • Maintain a strong focus on accuracy, consistency, controls and data quality across internal reporting processes.

Reporting Modernization & Process Enhancement

  • Partner closely with Technology, Finance and Risk to translate regulatory and reporting requirements into effective and scalable solutions.
  • Help design and implement improved reporting capabilities using automation, digital tooling, advanced analytics and AI-enabled solutions where these add value.
  • Improve the way regulatory capital information is aggregated, analyzed, visualized and communicated to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, strong controls and high-quality delivery.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in Regulatory Reporting, Finance, Capital Reporting, Risk, Treasury, Management Reporting or a related area, ideally within financial services.
  • Good understanding of Basel capital concepts, including RWA, regulatory capital, leverage and balance-sheet measures.
  • Experience producing, reviewing or analyzing internal management or regulatory reporting, including understanding and explaining key movements and drivers.
  • Strong analytical and logical thinking, with the ability to connect regulatory requirements, financial metrics and underlying business drivers.
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in process improvement, automation, reporting modernization or digital Finance initiatives.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Power BI, Alteryx, AI-enabled solutions or similar technologies is advantageous, but this is not a full-time coding or data analytics role.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly to both Finance and Technology audiences.

Why join us:

  • Join a high-impact Finance team working across U.S. regulatory capital and internal management reporting.
  • Develop expertise across RWA, capital, leverage, balance sheet and Basel-related topics, while gaining visibility into how these metrics are used for internal decision-making.
  • Take an active role in modernizing regulatory reporting processes and capabilities, rather than simply operating established reporting.
  • Work closely with Finance, Risk and Technology stakeholders across Budapest and the U.S.
  • Gain practical exposure to digital reporting, analytics and AI-enabled solutions applied to real Finance and regulatory reporting challenges.
  • Help shape more controlled, scalable and efficient internal regulatory reporting capabilities for the future.
