International Baccalaureate (IB) Teacher – Remote, Independent Contractor

Company: Nao Now Location: Fully Remote Position Type: Independent Contractor Schedule: Part-time (10 hours per week minimum) Compensation: Starting at $20.00 USD per hour About the Role Nao Now is looking for experienced and engaging educators who are familiar with the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum and approach to learning to support our young learners. This is a fully remote, part-time independent contractor position where you'll teach 1-on-1 English lessons to children ages 5–12 using our structured, interactive curriculum. We're especially interested in educators who have experience working in IB schools or with IB programs , and who understand how to encourage inquiry, critical thinking, communication, and learner independence. If you have experience with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) or other IB programmes and enjoy making learning meaningful, engaging, and student-centered, we'd love to hear from you. No lesson planning is required. All curriculum and teaching materials are provided, allowing you to focus on delivering engaging lessons and helping students build confidence in communicating in English. Key Responsibilities Teach 25-minute, one-on-one online English lessons to children ages 5–12 Deliver engaging lessons using Nao Now's structured curriculum Apply age-appropriate inquiry-based and student-centered teaching approaches when appropriate Encourage curiosity, critical thinking, communication, and independent thinking Connect classroom conversations to real-world topics and students' interests Support students in expressing their ideas clearly and confidently in English Create a positive, supportive, and interactive virtual learning environment Provide thoughtful lesson feedback after each class Maintain a professional, energetic, and encouraging on-camera presence Schedule Requirements Minimum of 10 teaching hours per week Available during peak teaching hours: Monday–Friday 5:30 PM–10:00 PM KST Minimum 3-month commitment Consistent weekly availability required Compensation Starting at $20 USD per hour Paid per completed 25-minute lesson Compensation based on qualifications, experience, and evaluation performance All curriculum and teaching materials provided Training session and onboarding are unpaid Required Qualifications Native English speaker Bachelor's degree or proof of current enrollment in a bachelor's program Experience working with children ages 5–12 Familiarity with International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes and teaching approaches Strong understanding of student-centered and inquiry-based learning Excellent communication and presentation skills Friendly, engaging, and energetic teaching style Reliable wired internet connection (minimum 60 Mbps) Quiet, professional teaching environment Headset (noise-cancelling preferred) Preferred Qualifications We're especially interested in candidates with: Experience teaching in an IB World School Experience with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) Familiarity with the IB Learner Profile Experience using inquiry-based learning approaches Experience developing students' critical thinking and communication skills Experience teaching internationally or working with culturally diverse learners Previous English, ESL, or EAL teaching experience Teaching certification or relevant education qualifications Experience as an: IB classroom teacher PYP teacher International school teacher English or EAL teacher Elementary school teacher Homeroom teacher Learning support teacher Curriculum specialist Educational coach or mentor Technical Requirements Wired ethernet connection Stable internet connection (minimum 60 Mbps) Computer less than five years old recommended Professional, distraction-free workspace Reliable webcam and headset About Nao Now Nao Now is an online English education platform serving young learners around the world.
