Xplor Technologies powers the experiences at the heart of everyday life. Through modern vertical software, embedded payments, and AI-powered capabilities, we help businesses in fitness, recreation, golf and club, field services, laundry, education, and other membership-based and service-based industries simplify operations, uncover insights, and elevate customer and member experiences.
About the opportunity
Join our Finance Division as an International Record to Report Manager to make a real impact every day. We say that because we know that every conversation we have, every code line we write and every interface we design is another opportunity for us to enrich our customers’ experiences.
The R2R Manager owns the record-to-report process across our international entities and leads the team that delivers it. The role makes sure the books close accurately and on time, that technical accounting positions are sound and documented, and that audits, statutory accounts and controls run smoothly.
Some of the other responsibilities include :
- Own the end-to-end R2R process, so accounts are complete, accurate and delivered within Group reporting deadlines.
- Run the close calendar and track close KPIs, such as on-time close, reconciliation completion and post-close adjustments.
- Make sure every balance sheet reconciliation is prepared, reviewed and approved, and that reconciling items are cleared promptly.
- Own accruals, prepayments and journals standards, including coding and cut-off, so the team applies them consistently across regions.
- Set the intercompany process, including monthly matching, elimination and loan balances.
- Own fixed asset and capex accounting policy, including useful lives and the go-forward procedure.
- Partner with FP&A to explain monthly business performance and variances.
- Prepare the short-term and long-term operational cash forecast and funding needs.
- Manage banking relationships and bank structure, and the capital adequacy reporting for regulated entities.
- Bring acquisitions and newly onboarded entities into the R2R process.
- Apply consistent methods across entities, and make sure any deviations are justified and documented.
- Technical lead: the go-to for technical accounting, who forms, documents and defends positions, reviews the technical accountant's work and presents to auditors.
- Policy ownership: revenue, leases, business combinations and PPA, impairment, share-based payments, capex useful lives, and consolidation, FX and intercompany, with the standards still to confirm.
- Reporting and policy: statutory and sub-consolidation accounts, the policy manual with an annual review, and moves to new standards such as IFRS 18.
Controls, audit, tax and compliance
- Own the control framework over R2R, with a strong controls bias. Design controls, make sure evidence is kept, and fix gaps. SOX experience is preferred.
- Lead the year-end audit for the Group, sub-consolidations and local accounts, including auditor selection and handover where needed.
- Make sure statutory accounts are filed on time in every jurisdiction, and that local GAAP aligns with Group reporting.
- Work with the Tax team on corporate tax returns, transfer pricing and indirect tax analysis.
- Keep policies, procedures and SOPs current, and review them every year.
- Make sure the team meets accounting standards and regulations in every region we operate in.
Leadership, process improvement and systems
- Lead, coach and develop the R2R team, including planning, staffing, training and goal setting, across remote and multi-location teams.
- Manage the technical accountant and set clear ownership between technical accounting and day-to-day R2R.
- Work with the NetSuite team on process improvements, automation and standard reporting.
- Lead continuous improvement and standardisation projects with commercial leaders across the payments and software businesses.
- Build a culture of quality, service for internal customers, flexibility and cost awareness.
- Collaborate with FP&A, Tax, Treasury and Audit to meet shared reporting goals.
This role is fully remote across the UK, with occasional meet-ups at our Newcastle office.
