The SAFE Unit within Oxfam Novib’s Programmes Department develops and co-implements (influencing) programmes in the areas of Promoting Safe and Resilient Communities and Supporting People on the Move. The Unit is responsible for upholding and promoting Oxfam’s humanitarian mandate through program and proposal development, resource mobilization, advocacy, and campaigns in the Netherlands.

This internship will support the SAFE Unit with a focus on advocacy through Oxfam’s Rights in Crisis Campaign.

Through the Rights in Crisis Campaign, Oxfam aims to drive collective action and solidarity, connecting communities and movements to challenge systems and actors that profit from and perpetuate war and oppression. With advocacy, Oxfam holds the powerful to account, enabling and facilitating collective action to ensure people’s rights are upheld in crises. Guided by a commitment to humanity, Oxfam works alongside communities – including civil society and activists – to strengthen their agency, protect their rights, and co-create sustainable solutions.

By challenging the social, political, and economic choices that drive and perpetuate crises, we create space for marginalised people and communities affected by crises to claim their rights, hold the powerful to account, and enjoy a more just, equitable, and humane future. We enable pathways, local to global, by protecting civilians, everywhere, challenging impunity, fighting against powerful men making profits from conflicts, and calling out states vetoing justice and hijacking global peace

Key Tasks
📝 Conduct background research and support drafting of policy documents/briefs, statement and lobby-asks on conflict and humanitarian situations – in support of existing and emerging advocacy strategies.
💬 Support coordination of influencing activities, lobby tours and visits, coordination with other civil society actors on advocacy and preparation of quarterly reports.
🤝 Participate in team meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions.
📄 Assist in proposal writing and donor reporting for the SAFE Unit

🛠 Perform ad hoc tasks as needed, including notetaking, event organization, logistics, administrative support, translation, and editing.
