CORA has a pre-employment drug testing requirement for all positions.
This position will schedule and obtain or verify (as appropriate for a given exam/office) pre-authorization for all exams scheduled by the IR Scheduling Team. This includes but is not limited to interventional procedures, spine clinic, vein clinic, biopsies, exams performed by physicians and physician extenders (excluding women’s imaging) as well as pre and post procedures requested by the Interventional Radiologists. This position will work with insurance companies to obtain/verify pre-authorization as well as the billing department to resolve insurance appeals. This is considered a hybrid position rotating working locations such as working in the CORAVIS clinic as a Patient Access Representative, working at CORA main and also working remotely.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
This position requires regular reliable attendance. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, knowledge, and confidentiality. Other duties as assigned.
  • Coordinates and manages all procedure scheduling performed by CORA’s Interventional Radiologists and Physician Extenders (excluding women’s imaging) as well as pre and post procedure clinic visits.
  • Creates and manages clinic and procedure scheduling templates for outpatient offices.
  • Works closely with St. Charles staff and within their EHR (EPIC) to schedule procedures for CORA’s Interventional Radiologists and Physician Extenders taking place within the walls of a St. Charles facility.
  • Obtains or verifies the insurance prior authorization for all procedures scheduled by the IR Coordinator or referred by CORA’s Interventional Radiologists and Physician Extenders.
  • Ensures the entry of pre-procedure and follow-up procedure orders in Royal.
  • Makes pre-procedure calls to ensure patient readiness for their procedure.
  • Performs procedure follow-up calls as instructed.
  • Act as point person for the billing department to resolve insurance appeals.
  • Answers and triages phone calls from patients, referring offices and co-workers regarding procedures scheduled by IR Coordinator.
  • Make in-person appointments with patients at the CORAVIS Clinic.
  • Prepare patient charts for CORAVIS clinic appointments.
  • Must be available to interventional radiologists (sometimes after hours) by cell phone (stipend provided by CORA).
  • Sync with interventional radiology coordinator at OHSU regarding shared patients (mostly cancer patients).
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with referring physicians and nurses, patients, and co-workers.
  • Ability to work cohesively and cooperatively with others and as part of a team is essential.

Telework Requirements

  • This is a remote-work position (telework); you must be able to work from home or designated off-site location. On-site training will be required for up to 6 months, once fully trained, remote work will commence.
  • Dedicated space/office must be free from distractions and background noise (personal calls, visitors, pets, TV, children, etc.)
  • Must provide your own high-speed internet that meets CORA’s specifications.
  • Must adhere to set schedule.
  • Continuous/active communication with managers and co-workers.
  • Additional requirements are included in CORA’s Telework Policy.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a medical office environment; specific experience with pre-authorization and scheduling for radiology preferred.
  • Must be detailed oriented, able to exercise good judgement and work under pressure.
  • Must be familiar with medical terminology and experience with Excel, Word, Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Electronic Medical Records preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; organization and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong time and stress management skills.
  • Possess strong customer service and interpersonal skills to communicate successfully with individuals and groups and interact with people at all levels to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment – cover co-worker duties as needed, offer suggestions for workflow improvement.
