Show job description
The Inventory Control Analyst maintains accuracy between physical inventory and the financial ledger. You reconcile book to physical inventory across stores, fulfillment centers, distribution centers and corporate departments, resolve variances with Finance and field partners, and improve the inventory systems and processes that cause them. Using advanced Excel and AI tools, you turn inventory data into reporting, insights and clear recommendations that guide business decisions.

What you will do

  • Inventory accuracy. Reconcile book to physical inventory through cycle counts and physical inventory. Analyze variances, MOS, damage, transfer and RTV activity to find the root causes of discrepancies and shrink.
  • Data insights, reporting and storytelling. Use advanced Excel, including pivot tables, advanced formulas and dashboards, to analyze inventory, sales, shrink and transaction data. Build the weekly and monthly reporting on inventory accuracy, shrink and compliance that managers and field leaders rely on. Use AI tools such as Claude, alongside your own analysis, to spot trends and anomalies and speed up recurring reporting. Turn the findings into clear stories and recommendations that drive decisions and accountability.
  • Retail ledger. Monitor inventory movement and valuation between distribution centers, fulfillment centers and stores. Work with research variances, process inventory and ledger corrections, and meet reporting deadlines. Support period-end close activities as needed. Support SOX controls and audit requests.
  • Fine Jewelry. Reconcile Fine Jewelry inventory and vendor payments to keep transactions accurate and limit shrink exposure.
  • Inventory systems. Partner with IT on system updates, testing, training and automation. Protect data quality in the inventory and ledger systems.
  • Field and corporate partnership. Serve as the link between stores, distribution, fulfillment, merchants, accounts payable, asset protection and corporate teams. Resolve purchase order, transfer and RTV issues, and support training and process adoption.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Analytics, Retail Management or a related field
  • 3 to 5 years of related experience; retail experience preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and advanced formulas, to analyze large data sets and build reports and dashboards in Excel, Power BI or Tableau
  • Analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze inventory, sales and accounting data and make clear recommendations
  • AI fluency and literacy, including comfort using AI tools to analyze data and support decisions
  • Ability to turn data into clear stories and recommendations for managers and field leaders, in writing and in meetings

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oracle RMS, ReIM and SQL Developer
  • Workday Accounting
  • Retail POS and ERP systems
  • Multi-store retail experience
