Role Summary:

This role will focus on security master, reference data, data quality, and governance within complex investment data environments. The consultant will work closely with client data management teams, business stakeholders, and an enterprise architect to translate business requirements into functional specifications, document target-state processes, and support implementation and testing activities.

The ideal candidate combines strong investment management domain knowledge with hands-on business analysis, data management, and implementation experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and document business, data, and functional requirements for investment data management platform implementations.
  • Develop business process flows, data pipeline documentation, functional specifications, architecture documentation, and decision-support materials.
  • Partner with enterprise architects and technical teams to translate business requirements into target-state solution designs.
  • Develop and execute test scripts, validate data, document defects, and support resolution throughout the implementation lifecycle.
  • Design and implement data quality rules, validation logic, and controls to support accurate and consistent investment data.
  • Support security master and reference data workflows, including data sourcing, enrichment, mastering, reconciliation, and exception management.
  • Contribute to data governance, metadata management, data lineage, and data cataloging activities.
  • Collaborate with client business, technology, investment operations, and data management stakeholders to support implementation decisions and delivery.
  • Support implementation readiness, user acceptance testing (UAT), and post-implementation stabilization activities.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in investment data management, business analysis, or data platform implementation.
  • Experience with at least one of the following investment data management platforms:
    • BNY Eagle Reference Data Center (RDC) or Eagle Data Vault
    • Arcesium
    • GoldenSource
    • Rimes
    • Markit EDM
  • Strong understanding of security master, reference/master data workflows, data quality, metadata, and governance within investment management environments.
  • Experience working within or closely alongside the data management function of an asset manager, asset owner, or institutional investor.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business and data requirements into clear functional specifications, process flows, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with data validation, testing, and business process analysis.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across business and technology teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience implementing or enhancing enterprise investment data management platforms.
  • Experience with data mapping, data integration, data pipelines, and source-to-target transformations.
  • Familiarity with investment data domains including securities, pricing, corporate actions, positions, transactions, and portfolio data.
  • Experience supporting data migration, platform modernization, or enterprise data transformation initiatives.
  • Prior consulting or professional services experience supporting institutional investment management clients.
  • Familiarity with SQL and data analysis tools used for data validation and troubleshooting.
