Why this role matters
Europe needs flexible capacity, and it needs it fast. Every new wind farm and solar park needs storage to keep the grid stable – and that is exactly what we build. Delta Capacity invests in, develops and operates large-scale standalone battery storage (BESS) across Germany, Finland, Sweden, Italy and Spain. We enter projects in early stages – greenfield, ready-to-build (RTB), EPC-ready – and take them through procurement, financing and construction to operation. From RTB, our projects reach COD in ca.15 months: our two Finnish projects, 125 MW / 300 MWh each, are heading for COD in Q4 2027.
We are looking for an Investment Manager who wants to own the numbers and the deal, from first valuation to financial close. Together with our origination team, you turn promising projects into closed acquisitions, then structure and finance them – and watch your work turn into steel, cables and megawatt-hours on the grid.
What you will achieve in your first 12 months
- Take BESS acquisitions from first term sheet to signing, with due diligence delivered on time, on budget and with no surprises.
- Give every project our origination team brings in a sharp first valuation and a clear go / no-go, across greenfield, RTB and EPC-ready stages.
- Own a financial model for each project that our investment committee, lenders and partners trust – and present investment cases that win their confidence.
- Bring at least 1 project to financial close, with shareholder funding, debt and guarantee facilities in place and a cash flow plan that holds through construction.
What you will do
Investment and deal execution
- Support our origination and business development team in screening new BESS opportunities, with fast first valuations that show which projects are worth pursuing.
- Own financial models – build, maintain and audit project and/or portfolio models from first valuation through financial close to COD, as the single source of truth for every decision.
- Lead valuation and deal structuring to signed term sheet, and assess key contract (tolling, EPC, LTSA) through a risk-return lens.
- Run the transaction end to end – due diligence, SPA negotiation, conditions precedent and closing – with clear reporting to investors and the board.
Project structuring and financing
- Own the cash flow plan of each project before and during construction, so every milestone is funded on time.
- Structure shareholder funding and project debt, and drive financing topics to financial close – including loan and guarantee facilities.
- Steer advisors and stakeholders – lawyers, technical and tax advisors, lenders and co-investors – to deliver on time and on budget.
- Get each project company ready for business: bank accounts, bookkeeping and commercial management from day one.
- Along the way, you lead and coach our Financial Analyst and help build the investment team as we grow.
What you bring
- 5+ years in M&A, investment banking, transaction advisory, project finance or an infrastructure fund, ideally in renewables.
- Excellent financial modelling skills – you have built and owned project finance models that others trust and decisions rest on.
- A degree in finance, economics, business or engineering, and a genuine interest in energy scale-up and battery storage. CFA or equivalent qualification is a plus.
- Closed transactions in BESS, solar or wind at utility scale, ideally including project financing through to financial close.
- An entrepreneurial, hands-on mindset and the confidence to negotiate with developers, lenders and advisors on your own.
- Fluent English and German (C1). Knowledge of the Nordic, Italian or Spanish markets, or another European language, is a big plus.
What we offer
- Real ownership from day one, short decision lines to senior management
- Direct impact on Europe's energy transition – your deals become batteries that keep the grid stable and green.
- Competitive remuneration
- Hybrid working from our Munich office, with occasional travel across our European markets.
- A nimble, high-trust team that moves fast, celebrates wins together and still makes time for ski trips and Oktoberfest.
