Your Role
As an Investment Operations Analyst, you will be part of the Portfolio Management team and work closely with our Operations team. You will also collaborate with Account Management, Sales and Marketing. You will ensure that our operational investment processes run reliably and efficiently, from position management through to reporting
The role combines hands-on operational responsibility with a clear mandate to continuously improve and develop our processes.
Your Responsibilities
- Portfolio Operations: Ensure the integrity of portfolio and position data, including reconciliations with custodian banks and issuers, maintenance of model portfolios and monitoring of trade orders through to settlement, particularly during periodic rebalancings.
- Controls and Quality Assurance: Perform ongoing controls throughout the investment process, including monitoring cash balances and portfolio deviations and systematically identify opportunities to improve our rebalancing and operational investment processes.
- Reporting and Performance: Contribute to product and client reporting, including factsheets and performance analyses and validate the underlying data.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a point of contact for operational matters involving clients, partners and service providers and support Portfolio Management in day-to-day activities and projects.
- Process Development and Automation: Analyse existing workflows, develop and implement your own improvement ideas and automate recurring tasks, particularly with the help of AI.
Your Profile
Education and Professional Expertise
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Banking & Finance, Business, Mathematics, Information Systems, Computer Science or a comparable field.
- Initial experience in portfolio or asset management, investment operations, or the middle/back office of a financial institution is an advantage.
- Good understanding of financial instruments and the fundamentals of portfolio and asset management.
- Quantitative understanding of the risks associated with financial instruments and investment strategies.
- Basic knowledge of trading and settlement processes.
- Compliance awareness: You understand which data is sensitive and how it should be handled, including when using AI tools and have sound judgement regarding which matters require further scrutiny or escalation.
Technology and AI
- Confident, hands-on experience with common AI tools, particularly Claude (including Projects, Artifacts, Skills, Claude Design and, ideally, Claude Code) as well as ChatGPT.
- Ideally, experience building workflows and automations, for example with n8n, as well as connecting data sources and applications to AI tools via APIs or MCP connectors.
- Ability to structure tasks in a way that enables AI tools to produce reliable results, while critically reviewing and validating their output.
- Programming skills, particularly in Python and SQL, are an advantage.
- You actively follow developments in AI, independently explore new tools and applications and see it as part of your role to continuously evolve the way you work through new technologies.
