Is this job info correct?

Overview We are currently seeking an Operations Lead to join our team based at our growing Iqaluit office. This role is open to applicants residing anywhere in Nunavut, with preference for candidates based in or willing to relocate to Iqaluit. Regular travel across Nunavut and the broader North is required. We offer flexible work hours and hybrid work arrangement options to help balance the competing demands of work and personal life. Responsibilities About the Role As our Operations Lead , you will play a hands-on role on the ground in Iqaluit. You will help drive projects, support local operations, and connect our clients directly with Dillon’s nationwide network of technical specialists spanning municipal infrastructure, water and wastewater, housing, community planning, transportation, and environmental services. You will bring technical credibility and a genuine commitment to working with northern communities. At Dillon, one of the things we are most proud of is how we show up for our clients. We answer the phone. We respond when issues come up. We work through challenges together. We build trust by being reliable, practical, and present. We are looking for someone who brings that exact mindset to Nunavut. This role is about far more than just executing technical tasks; it is about being dependable, responsive, and deeply committed to building strong, lasting relationships with clients, communities, Inuit organizations, and northern partners. Be the local point of contact: Build and nurture trusted relationships across Nunavut, working directly with municipal, territorial, federal, and Inuit organization partners, as well as private sector, commercial, and resource/mining clients. Drive & support project delivery: Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, oversee site visits, and ensure projects are delivered in a way that is practical, culturally respectful, and responsive to client and community needs. Listen and solve problems: Meet with clients early, understand their operational challenges, and help shape solutions before formal opportunities even hit the table. Help grow our local base: Work closely with our Yellowknife office and national practice leads to support recruitment, mentorship, and long-term capacity building in Iqaluit. Learning & Development A commitment to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development Input to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees Qualifications Solid experience delivering or coordinating projects in municipal infrastructure, commercial or resource development, environmental services, or consulting in Nunavut or remote northern settings. A "Client-First" Approach: Exceptional communication skills, strong initiative, and a natural ability to build trust and solve problems directly with clients whether they represent local communities, government agencies, or private industry. Adaptability & Versatility: Comfortable switching gears between project coordination, client check-ins, proposal support, and local office operations. Northern Knowledge & Assets: Living in or having deep experience working in Nunavut, enrollment as an Inuk under the Nunavut Agreement, knowledge of Inuit culture and governance, Inuktut language skills, and/or Inuit representation are all considered significant assets. Nunavut recognizes Inuktut, English, and French as its official languages, and fluency in more than one is considered an asset. However, resumes should be submitted in English to support the recruitment process. Additionally, preference will be given to candidates who bring northern cross-cultural work experience and an understanding of Inuit communities, land, culture, Inuktut, and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit. Experience 10+ years of progressive experience in consulting, municipal/community infrastructure, or related project delivery (less experience considered with relevant northern/Nunavut experience). Proven experience managing projects and programs. Demonstrated success leading projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing field activities, and delivering infrastructure projects in remote or northern communities. Strong client relationship, business development, and proposal experience, with the ability to build trusted relationships with government, municipalities, and Indigenous/Inuit organizations.
