A Brief Overview
The IS Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and supporting the successful delivery of Information Systems projects that improve operations, patient care, and business processes across Stormont Vail Health. This role works closely with Information Systems teams, operational departments, and vendors to plan, organize, and implement technology-related initiatives. The Project Manager maintains project documentation, facilitates communication among stakeholders, and helps ensure projects are completed on time and within scope. This position is intended for individuals who are developing their project management skills and are capable of managing small to medium-sized projects with increasing levels of independence.

Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED Required


Experience Qualifications

  • 2 years Experience coordinating projects, implementing technology solutions, supporting operational initiatives, or related work experience. Required
  • Healthcare, information technology, or project coordination experience. Preferred
  • Additional coursework, certifications, or experience in business, healthcare, information technology, project management, or a related field Preferred


Skills and Abilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with stakeholders, team members, and vendors.
  • Basic understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings, document decisions, and track action items.
  • Ability to identify and escalate risks, issues, and barriers to project success.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and project management tools.
  • Ability to work independently while seeking guidance when needed.


Licenses and Certifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) - PMI or CAPM certification or equivalent. May be obtained after hire. Preferred


What you will do

  • Project Planning and Coordination: • Assist with planning, coordinating, and implementing Information Systems projects and initiatives. • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, meeting notes, action item logs, and status reports. • Coordinate project activities with Information Systems teams, operational departments, and external vendors. • Monitor project progress and communicate risks, issues, and delays to leadership.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: • Facilitate project meetings and document key decisions, action items, and follow-up activities. • Provide routine status updates to project stakeholders. • Ensure project participants understand project goals, timelines, and responsibilities. • Support change management and adoption activities related to new technology implementations.
  • Project Administration: • Maintain project information within approved project management systems and tools. • Support intake, assessment, and prioritization processes for new project requests. • Ensure required project documentation is completed and maintained. • Assist with testing coordination for system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Vendor Coordination: • Coordinate vendor meetings, implementation activities, and project deliverables. • Track vendor issues and ensure timely follow-up and resolution. • Assist with scheduling vendor resources and implementation activities.
  • Continuous Improvement: • Identify opportunities to improve project management practices, workflows, and tools. • Support PMO standards, templates, processes, and governance activities. • Participate in lessons learned reviews and continuous improvement efforts.


Travel Requirements

  • 5% Occasional travel to Stormont Vail Health facilities and regional locations may be required.
