Overview

Our team is looking for an iSeries Technical Lead.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include: Providing onshore and offshore iSeries Development initiatives. Working closely with management to delegate tasks to offshore team members. Developing software components utilizing RPGIV, RPG Free, DB2/SQL and RPG/ILE software programs. Working with the Development Team Lead on designing and analyzing software, including supporting documentation. Performing testing and troubleshooting on developed software applications. Working with the user community during development and testing phases. Adhering to internal software development standards and changing management procedures. Creating and maintaining software service programs, stored procedures and SQL views. Troubleshooting real-time software job failures. Understanding of DDM connections and communication between multiple AS400 partitions. Working with iSeries API's, Data queues, User queues, multithreading, Journaling and IBM iSeries file systems. Handling multiple tasks as well as working well under pressure to meet project deadlines. Conducting software reviews for the deliverables prepared by other team members. Participating in On-call rotations for Production support issues. Telecommuting permitted. Work may occur from anywhere within the U.S.

Qualifications

BA in Computer Science, Information Technology or closely related. 48 mon. as a Software Engineer or related. 48 mon. in: AS400 core, XML & Multi Thread programming; Island Pacific Software; Interactive & Batch Debugging; Data & User queues; subsystems; Job Management; Message Queue; Triggers; Journaling; Stored Procedures; Iseries File Systems; FTP commands; Hawkeye; Jira; Production support; SQL; Retail Domain. 40 hrs/wk. 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. $130,707/year.
